The Belt^TM demands respect, always. I assume that if there was a fracas, a set-to, or a throw down, then It^TM would deem both teams unworthy until adequate penance was performed.

This is an Object^TM that is based upon a professional wrestling belt, smeds. Look back through the history of this board, and you'll see constant references to sleeper holds on coaches, leaping off of a rim to do a suplex or a camel clutch on an opponent like it was a turnbuckle, and, of course, the much-beloved slam to the chops with a metal folding chair.

The Belt^TM doesn't want penance in the wake of a fracas. It wants more fracas. In fact, it wants you to turn your opponent into fracassée.

You could argue last night proved the sovereignty of The Belt^TM:

Augie's Austin Elledge let loose a three at the buzzer with his team down one in Naperville, and anyone with a good angle knew the shot had a chance.

But The Belt^TM invoked the Demon Rim, the shot went in and out, and North Central hangs on for its third consecutive successful defense, 54-53.

Millikin gets its second chance in ten days to reclaim The Belt^TM on Saturday.

Doesn't look like it. Augie won The Belt^TM from three different teams back in 2014-15, topped only by Pomona-Pitzer, who won The Belt^TM on four separate occasions from three different teams back in 2012.

I've updated the map to reflect Illinois Wesleyan gaining possession. This is the fourth time in the Modern Era (third this season) that the Titans have defeated a visiting Belt^TM holder, the most since we started keeping track.

The Titans will begin their defense at home on Saturday against Carroll.

...probably? I'm just not sure who owns the trademark, because I built the map, but it was in my capacity as the Official Cartographer, which might give the trademark to the Weasels. I just don't know how much of a fight Google would put up.
