I was looking at the schedule.  It kind of stinks that if your team loses its first two games they are done.  Two games doesn't seem like much exposure for a whole weekend.   I would have thought they'd get each team at least three games.

Do these guys have to pay anything to be at this tournament or is it all taken care of?

Anybody planning on going?  Is it even open to the public?

I assume at least one of the main writers for D3hoops will.  But I thought since it was in Ohio there might be some folks who would make a weeknd out of it.

I'm thinking it's not open to the public.

It is open to the public.  Here is a blurb about ticket information from their website:

As a reminder, game tickets are available by calling Wadsworth High School at 330-336-3260. Lower bowl tickets for each of the six sessions are $7 and upper bowl tickets are $5. Tickets for the All Star Game on Saturday night, April 21, are expected to sell out, so it is suggested that you purchase these tickets in advance.

I stand corrected! lol.  When I first read the webpage, I got the impression it was just for scouts and stuff.  Oh well.  That's what I get for being lazy and looking prior to posting!  ::)

I hear on the lazy note.  But maybe I am just blind.  I was trying to see if any of the games will be webscast.  I know the final will be on ESPN U.

I hope we can at least get box scores from the games.

If they publish box scores, Old School will start a CBI Fantasy League.  ;)

I was up at Wadsworth this afternoon and caught a game and a half.  Wooster's Tom Port had a nice outing and his team came from behind to win by 3 or 4.  If my memory is correct he hit 4 out of 5 threes plus a left-handed layup for 14 points (11 in the second half).  He also played some excellent defense, mostly guarding wingmen like himself, which is something he didn't often get to do at Wooster where he was needed underneath.

The basketball was pretty darned good, considering that these were all-stars that hadn't had much practice time.  The crowd was sparse, and that's unfortunate, because it was a good show.  I'm going back tomorrow night to see the evening session, or at least Port's game at 4:30.

Was it to be expcected that the all star team had only 1- D3 hoopster?

It's hard ot make many asessments without seeing any of the players, but for the guys we are familiar with, did we get robbed? I was hoping for at least 3/8.

There wasn't a huge d3 presence to begin with.  I would have thought 2 of 8, but one is what we have to work with.

Obviously, I didn't see any of the games (or else I would've had a fantasy league...just kidding), but I noticed that Ricky Volcy guy was in the tourney.  He's a D2 guy from Northern Michigan.  Stevens Point went up to Marquette to play them and the guy was unbelievable.  I looked it up and he ended up being the conference player of the year...So, I guess you could see what the D3 players were up against.  Not to take anything away from them, of course, but it was invite only, right?

yeah... did any of you guys happen to see the selection comittee.  UST's (St. Thomas) own Steve Fritz among others.  Most "selectors" seem to have a representative in the invitational.

Who do you think should get invited from NCAA Div. III's senior class for the 2008 Collegiate Basketball Invitational?
