Looks like the Laurel Line tournament is back.

Ahh, opening up with Medger Evers...a squad that won all of two games last season.
Looks like Danzig wants to make sure he has a real good shot at winning 6 games this year.  ::)
What an absolutely underwhelming opening tournament.
There are too many really good coaches out there (Ryan Van Zelst/Justin Klingman) that are ready to bring this program back to life & relevance...this should be his last rodeo.
He's taken this program from the pinnacle of success when it was handed to him to where it lies today.
Under his leadership, this program has gone from national power to regional after-thought.
Time for that crucial conversation.

Great Day to be a Royal

I think a 4 win team should be looking for winnable games. Needs to be a rebuilding year.

I don't have a problem with the schedule.

Rebuilding year? Can't have it both ways it was either a lost season due to injuries or they needed to reload talent. (Talking to myself not you Great Day)

It is August 2nd maybe we'll get an announcment on recruits from across the league soon.

Lost season due to injuries - because it looked like a number could have played later in the season but didn't so they wouldn't lose a year of eligibility. A plus was that a number of the bench players got extended playing time to show what they could or not do.

Note to Royal braintrust...
Both the Univ. of Rochester & Gettysburg have tournament availability for the beginning of next season.
How about you drop the Medger Evers Invitational & test your skill level against competition?
The UofR tourney was always a favorite of Bess's.

Sorry to bring soccer to the basketball board but there generally isn't much traffic on that site.
At any rate, not sure who does the SID work at Scranton for men's soccer but in today's recap of the Royals win over Lycoming yesterday, they state, "this is Scranton's first ever win over Lycoming".

No...absolutely wrong.
Did the writer even do basic research before stating an absolutely false statement?
Check the scores back in the golden years of Royal soccer under Steve Klingman & explain where that notion (never beating them) ever came from.

The "I" in SID stands for information...and if you're going to write a story at least get your facts & information straight.

Clearly they meant in the modern era. :)

Good win for the Royals!

NEPA,

I think once you use the adverb "ever", you take away the readers understanding of history and infer Royal wins "never" happened.
Accuracy is paramount in reporting...if it was Scranton's first victory over them in 8 years, then say that & skip the alternate facts.

I should have indicated the sarcasm.  Looking like they fixed the error.

Don't see them allowing sponsorship of the tipoff tourney to lapse by going elsewhere that 1st weekend, but, in this case of Rochester on the 2nd weekend, they could do both.

Saratoga -- did you consider just contacting them with the proper info for them to correct it, instead of posting it here?
