Looks like we have no Royals' insiders that could tell us. With the women having a home scrimmage Saturday, the men are likely on the road for theirs.
I had found a D1 exhibition game possibility for the men a couple of months ago, but they were locked in to the 2 scheduled scrimmages and couldn't change.

Junior Jon Spatola and graduate student Tahaj Parland will lead the way in the back court for Scranton. Spatola was an All-Landmark Honorable Mention selection last year and averaged 12.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game. Parland put up 9.9 PPG in 2023-24. Senior guard Cameron Khoza returns on the wing and added 9.5 PPG last season. In the front court, senior Will McLoughlin returns as a huge presence, having earned All-Region honors in 2022-23.

Who is the Fifth starter?

I'd start Mason Thompson and Matt Hanley before Khoza. Nick Ruisi and Max Lebisky should get considerable playing time, also.

I'm pretty sure Khoza will start.
The 5th. starter will probably be Teddy Spratt so there is another banger underneath with Will.
Otherwise, Will tries to do too much without help, gets an extra foul or two & sits on the bench where he can't help on either side of the ball.

Spratt played well down the stretch. On top of that, he played hard. On a lost season, he got at it. I am excited to see him play with more time.

Here we go!  Another year of Royal basketball. Looking forward to it. Royals by 20 tonight?

Considering they're playing the Little Sister's of the Poor...sure, why not?
The Hilton should pull sponsorship of this tournament if Medger Evers & Bryn Athyn are the best the Scranton braintrust can bring in.

Great Day to be a Royal

The Hilton should not be happy that only two teams travel in for this tournament. I am only guessing that the teams stay there. I know most of the time teams stay in different hotels, but with the size of that hotel, multiple teams could stay there.

As I have spoken about before, I would enjoy seeing a U of S Marywood cross city game. It has been a minute. 2003-04 season was last.

You may get your wish tomorrow. I think you might be the only one clamoring for that matchup. Watched a little of Yeshiva -Mount Union to whet the whistle this afternoon.

I just meant I think the schools should embrace opening seasons across all sports. Get the city involved for a Mayors trophy or something.

Medgar Evers coaching staff could have stayed on the bus and no one would have noticed. Sad to see lack of coaching at this level.

Scranton didn't score 80 points last year, let alone 90. Everyone on the team got minutes tonight..

We have seen this play every year.Bring in cupcake teams for your tournament(Mind you last year Mt Union).Just to get blown out by almost 30 pts. When will this Martin guy finally see the light.I understand some of you will come on here and defend this guy for winning the landmark ,but guess what that is not a sell to kids that want to win titles,That my friends is the difference Between Bess and Danzing. Not one Trophy in the long center did Carl add in 22 years to that great trophy case.SMH

Well, they'll have difficulty beating above average teams if they allow both McLoughlin to shoot 3-pters and 14 offensive rebounds. Also, Matt Hanley still out after injury 8 days ago.
