Another indicator that Goucher is playing the old Nolan Richardson 40 minutes of hell game is they (Goucher) all have to be crashing the boards after missed shots since they have more offensive rebounds vs. defensive ones in all 4 games played.
Hence the 100 plus shots a game.  :o
As Ronk pointed out, let's see what develops against a pretty good Susquehanna team on Wed's.

I am a Scranton Mens Basketball fan , what is an offensive rebound?

What's the reason for the curtain behind the basket @ the Long Center? Can't be sunlight because the windows behind the basket face South Scranton not West Scranton.

NEPA:
You know, I was going to say something like the men's basketball coaching staff should invest a day or two at a Goucher practice but I thought better of busting their chops so soon after busting their chops.  ;D
Thanks for saying what many of us were thinking.

Ronk:
The curtain was put up at the request of the conflicted student section not wanting to actually be seen at a men's basketball game. They watched the Medger Evers game on tv's behind the curtain.

Actually, not true.
I have no idea why the seats weren't there but, the curtain was pulled back & the seats were up for the Lady Royals last game vs. NJCU.

If you want a primer, here's the last time we did an ATN feature on The System.  It includes some specifics about women's basketball.

Looks like a change in tonight's Wilkes-Scranton matches: it's been changed to a doubleheader @ Scranton with the women @ 6pm and the men @ 8pm. Previously, it was the normal Landmark Wednesday arrangement with both playing @ 7pm, the women @ Wilkes and the men @ home.

No issues with FloSports stream. 66-18 at the moment, in a barn burner.

Next school on the watch list for canceling their season:
Cairn.
My God, those kids have played at least the last 2 games with only 5 players.
This is an accident waiting to happen.
I applaud their perseverance but you can't just keep sending 5 kids out there for all 40 minutes.
Unless they expect to be gaining several players in the next week, I hope their administration has met & landed on a game plan.

Watched the 1st half of the Susque-Goucher game to see what the new-look Goucher WBB would do tomorrow vs the Lady Royals. Unlike a few years ago when Goucher only dressed 7, they have some players now, so many that when the HC sat down instead of standing up, there wasn't a seat for 1 of the players. They press full court and it was effective against Susque, but when it was beaten, there were many uncontested layups. They also sub in 5 players whenever play is whistled to a halt.
Don't think Scranton has faced a similar style in recent years.

I think they figured it out. :)

;) I think they did too!
I especially liked how Ben had his kids ready to run the fly pattern for multiple easy layups.
Unlike another basketball team from the same university...Ben's players were prepared for the test.

Congrats to Kaci Kranson on reaching 1000 career points today.
Playing the system was a good experience today - they committed 24 TOs, double their average, and the bigs were harassed while getting rebounds with the physicality of Goucher, despite their lack of size. The offense was speeded up by the full court pressure, forcing judgments(good and bad) to be made on the fly as opposed to walking thru their offense against a normal front court defense. Changing to the fly pattern after Goucher baskets in the 2nd half made inbounding and breaking the press much easier; plaudits to the coaching staff for the change.
All in all, a good experience in the big picture of things.

Yes...congrats to Kaci, a great accomplishment in only the first half of her junior year.
Not too shabby for someone who only plays around 23 minutes per game.  :)
The Scranton defense was on another lock-down level yesterday forcing 2 Goucher 30 second counts against a team that had been shooting within 12 seconds entering the game.
By the end of the contest it was Goucher that was dragging & not keeping up with the Lady Royal onslaught...on top of all the other positive traits Ben has brought in...add conditioning as another.

Watched most of the NYU/Tufts massacre.
NYU is clearly head & shoulders above everyone else at this point.
Doesn't appear to be a weak link in the chain & Bruns could be starting at many mid-majors.
