Watched some of the Ithaca/Union game last night & Union had a player that was really talented that I hadn't seen or heard of playing with them before.
However, the name was very familiar yet I couldn't place it.
Finally came to me today when I glanced at Union's roster.
The player, Kate Peek, played 2 years at D1 Fairfield & then transferred to NYU this summer & that's where I knew her name from.
Apparently, NYU wasn't her thing & she just transferred to Union after only 1 semester with the Violets.
Must be nice when NYU can't find any time for a kid that was able to drop 22 last night in her debut with Union.
Good for her.

So 13 games in and the big surprise in the Landmark is Goucher 10-3 (Congrats) So out of Scrantons 13 teams 3 teams have losing records Juniata(6-7) Wilkes (0-12) Yikes and Colby(6-7) Believe me that team is a very very good team and will give fits to those higher up Nescac teams like Bowdoin,Amherst,Williams and Tufts which they demolished yesterday. Then another team the Lady Royals played Cortland (10-2) not a bad team either. The biggest surprise in my eyes is Goucher great job Coach.

Just want to be on the other side of the bracket from NYU.

Scranton ends up #2 in a median amount of my sims!

With Final Four happening at the same site, there should be zero reason for the WBB Committee to put #1 and #2 overall seeds on the same side of the bracket. And likely zero reason to not set up #1 to play #4 in the FF, and #2 to play #3.

Good catch Augie.
How the heck did DiPillo not recruit her??
Maybe that's why he's winless at LeMoyne (0-16). :o

ronk

Probably because she wasn't from NJ; that's where a lot of his recruiting takes place.

Recruiting at any level in any sport begins at home & then branches out.
One of these years he'll learn.

I remember one of the parents telling me when Dipillo was at the U. He will not recruit Pa. kids and he will use the transfer portal for his recruiting. Im so glad Kaci came despite him! What a joke.

ICYMI,
Dean Corwin said during his coverage of the Moravian game Wed that the Lady Royals national championship team('85) will be celebrated in this 40th year during halftime of the Goucher WBB game; that day the game will be @ 4 PM instead of 2.

Are the Elias Twins from Easton still at Elizabethtown?   I'm noticing that they're not on the E'town roster.   They were darn good at EAHS!

kate

Answering my own question, the Elias twins transferred to Moravian.

scottiedawg

Moravian has picked up three in-conference transfers mid-season:

Emma Pukszyn, to Moravian from Susquehanna
Mallory Elias, to Moravian from Elizabethtown
Megan Elias, to Moravian from Elizabethtown

Can anyone here play defense??
Holy cow...
Goucher 128/Lycoming 115.

Can anyone here score??
Holy Cow Part Deux...
Leb. Valley 47/Desales 24.
Desales has one of the worst offensive games I can ever remember for a pretty decent team.
They shoot an unbelievable 13% from the field (6/45).
Six field goals in 40 minutes...that loss to King's must have really hurt.

Goucher in 14 games not against Scranton:

11-3
Points for: 105.9
Points against:  73.1

Against Scranton:

0-1
Points for: 41
Points against: 100

Scranton's defense has been stellar all year (leading the nation in scoring defense), including today with 13 steals and 8 blocks while holding ranked Catholic to 37.5% shooting and 20 points under their average.  This could be a very dangerous team in March.
