You can get more teams to Scranton then anywhere. You can even ship Baldwin Wallace to Scranton how about that.Since we are now only protecting the #1 and # 2 seed lmao

scottiedawg

The protection is for seeding.

There is no different level of "hosting protection" than any other year.

saratoga

If Scranton wins out the first weekend, they should not be shipped out.
Sorry NCAA, get those 3 lower teams from the mid-west into Scranton by flight , bus, or Uber.
Then again...let's hold off till we see what the actual bracket looks like & not get all amped up over a "projected" one.

One of the benefits of being a Top 4 team per NPI is you stay at home till the Final 4.
Isn't the term used by the NCAA (Protected)?
Your body of work is the record you produced all year...don't take that away from the kids that earned it because, God forbid, you need to add a few more flights.

Is there a pool b team this year? Because you only have 63 women teams and I thought it was 64!!

scottiedawg

There is no Pool B team this year.

43 Pool A
21 Pool C

Okay I'm trying to figure out the 64th team.D3hoops has 63 up.

scottiedawg

They are missing Washington & Jefferson.

So if everything is right with the 64 teams on d3hoops I'm just picking the top 4 seeds not doing the whole thing But if it serves well in Bowdoins sections you would have Bowdoin,OWU,Gettysburg,E Texas ,NYU Section NYU ,Catholic,Gustavus Adolphus ,Smith,Scranton section,Scranton ,John's Hopkins ,IWU UW Oshkosh,BW section BW ,UWWhitewater,Whitman ,RMC that is your top sixteen teams and it puts 1 vs 16 2-15 3-14  4-13 etc..

I would just like to add (If),that is a big (if) NYU men win! They will host second week,So that would make NYU go on the road.

Not necessarily.  With Hampden-Sydney and Emory hosting for men, there's a good chance they'll bracket them with NYU for a possible HSC host second weekend to save flights.  That would give NYU women a chance to host both weekends.  Not a definite, but very possible (if not likely).

The only wrench would be either HSC or Emory losing first weekend, then the NYU men would likely host.

Seriously why would you put NYU and Emory in the same bracket after just playing each other twice?Makes no sense just like the bracket for Women you put out.The only team you put all the Midwest schools with is Scranton and if chalk holds serve and you did your seeding right 1 plays 16,2 plays 15,3 plays 14 and 4 plays 13 Whitewater is a 13 seed not a 14 seed.

But, but.. It's less money for the NCAA to pocket!

Can all the midwest schools get to scranton in under 500 miles?

I don't know if D3 follows this, but I found this in the Indy Star

Teams from the same league that played only once during the regular season — including the conference tournament — can meet as early as the round of 32.

Teams that met twice during the year can't see each other until the regional semifinals; teams that met three times cannot face each other until the regional championship.

Anyone know if D3 has anything similar?
