Washington University has the schedule for their title defense up: http://bearsports.wustl.edu/mensbball/mensbballschedule.html.

It's complete with tournament matchups for the Colorado College, Anderson, Elmhurst, and their own (La Verne, Aurora, Eureka, and Hamilton, respectively).

I think that the first matchup listed on the Wash U website may be in error, as my understanding is that Wash U will face North Park and host Colorado College will face LaVerne in the opening round of that opening-weekend tourney in Colorado Springs.

WashU has changed this.

Any of those complete? I know Calvin, St. Scholastica, Lake Forest and Tyler aren't because I looked at them all yesterday when I was punching schedules into the system.

I haven't gone through these in detail yet, but I'll do that and let you know. Offhand, most of the tournament matchups aren't in the schedules.

Cool. Lot of these lack some game times -- I'll check back on them later. Meanwhile, we're still well ahead of the game from last season, thank goodness.

For the sake of off-season discussion, let's ascribe to the IWU brain trust the wisdom of getting the best schedule possible.  ;)

We see that IWU has determined that six non-in-region, non-conference games is in its best interest when Pool C, OWP/OOWP and seedings are considered.

I have assumed that Manchester (in-region) defeats K'zoo (non-in-region) and is the second game foe.

Having only 19 in-region regular games may not dilute a powerful OOWP that the CCIW can earn.

The 5 non-conference (in-region) D3 opponents can be easily justified for what needs to be accomplished.  The UAA foes allow IWU to pick up the OOWP bonanza that we saw demonstrated last year.

Hanover is a good choice from the OWP perspective.

Maryville MO might even have a good OWP this season.

We can accept Illinois College for its place on the schedule and its serving a logical purpose.

Hamilton is non-in-region.

Playing only NAIA's at the holiday tournament makes sense, if one doesn't want to lose, but wants competitive foes to build the team away from home.

Just some off-season thougths.    :)

Based on my conversations with Ron Rose about scheduling, I think it is fair to say he was looking to play at least 2 more in-region non-conference games.  It just didn't work out that way for a number of reasons.

Scheduling can be a pretty unscientific process.  Coaches can try their best to play the "in-region game", but in the end it really just comes down to finding games...which can be difficult.
