The Cardinals released Rowan P Ryan Kulik.
The Nationals recalled Centenary P Cole Kimball, who made his MLB debut tonight with a scoreless inning against the Marlins. Kimball was named the International League Pitcher of the Week on April 11.

"One leg was shaking as I took the sign, and my other leg was shaking as I set myself," said Kimball, who pitched a scoreless ninth. "It was nice, but it would've been better had we won. Livo pitched a gem ... so it was a great game to be a part of."

East Bay OF Archie Gilbert was named the Eastern League Hitter of the Week on May 9.

Matt Schuld (St. Thomas) was named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for games ending May 15.

The Tigers recalled Charlie Furbush (St. Joseph's-ME/LSU) on May 21.

Mr. Ypsi

I suppose we all knew Charlie Furbush couldn't maintain a 0.00 era forever!  Last night he gave up a HR (fortuately a solo shot), sky-rocketing his era to 0.77! :o ;D

Old Westbury's Robert Whitenack and Otterbein's Dan Remenowsky were named Double-A Southern League all-stars.

I'm not sure if Whitenack, who this season also spent time at Advanced-A, will be able to play. He's currently on the DL. At Double-A Whitenack is 4-0 with a 2.39 ERA in seven starts.

Remo is 3-1 with a 2.64 ERA, 7 SV, 30.2 IP, 16 H, 4 BB, 42 K, .151 OBA.

Keystone's Yazy Arbelo was selected to start at first base in the Midwest League all-star game. Arbelo is currently fifth in all of MiLB, and leads Single-A, with 16 home runs. Arbelo also leads all of Single-A with 50 runs batted in and is fourth in Single-A with a .619 slugging percentage. Needless to say, he also leads the Midwest League in most power categories.

Complete all-star roster for the Midwest League, as well as those of the Texas, California and Carolina leagues, should be published soon. The New York-Penn, Eastern and Triple-A all-star games are later in the summer.

The Dbacks signed Marietta P Mike DeMark from the Atlantic League and assigned him to Double-A.

The Rays signed Concordia-IL P Jim Paduch from the North American League and assigned him to Double-A (he doesn't yet have an MiLB link ... he does). Paduch becomes the first NABL player to sign with an affiliated club, according to a league release. It's the NABL's inaugural season.

Cortland's Matt Tone got to throw to a rehabbing Joe Mauer in Fort Myers yesterday. Tsuyoshi Nishioka is rehabbing there as well.

Frostburg's Greg Ross signed with Atlanta and Birmingham Southern's Drew Leachman signed with Minnesota, according to Baseball America. Neither have player links.

Linfield's KC Wiser signed with Texas and was assigned to the Rookie AZL Rangers.

OshDude, Rob Cummings was released by the White Sox.

And the post-draft shuffling begins ...
Occidental P Brooks Belter signed with the Rays. He doesn't yet have a link.
McDaniel OF Harold Baines retired from the White Sox after two seasons. He didn't play in 2010.
Wooster SS Matt Johnson moves from Rookie to Short Season for Toronto.
Keystone P Sean Murphy moves from Rookie to High-A for Oakland.
Trinity (Conn.) OF James Wood moves from Rookie to Short Season for Seattle. An injury ended Wood's 2010 season.
Anderson's Cody Young moves from Rookie to Short Season for Baltimore.
Emory 3B Frank Pfister moves from Single-A to High-A for Cincinnati.
Albright P Casey Lawrence moves from Single-A to High-A for Toronto.

Eastern Mennonite's Erik Kratz leads the International League in all-star voting at catcher.
