I LOVE this site during playoff time.

It jumps from "my team is better than your team" to "my kid is better than your team". :P :P

It's not what happens when parents get on the board and cry about a lack of respect? My bad.

Mercy (and all that)! Spare us from irate (player) parents who think their offspring can do no wrong ....  :P

[Some of us have seen this play out in the worst possible way. It ain't pretty -- in fact, it's damn ugly, and it would be laughable if it weren't so harmful to all concerned.]

TC -- you have no idea what you're talking about. You're just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks, and nothing does. You've got no idea what you're talking about.

I mean, gosh, congrats on a home win against a 16-11 team. Wow. That's huge. Now you'll get into the Top 20, for sure.

Medaille took care of business and won its league. If it didn't win its league, it might not have gotten in.

Oh, except for the fact (facts are important, not just bluster) that Medaille had a win against a regionally ranked team, on the road no less. That's something that GMC still lacked.

Oh I forgot your the Guru and the ONLY one on here that knows what they are talking about. ( my bad)

I never said anything about GMC being in the TOP 20 this year. I know they have to be at least 25-1 to get any votes.

Boy your saying Medaille had to win their league to get in? And they are ranked in the TOP 20 right? Boy Guru, you know your ball. Don't forget they are your Cinderella Team, Oh how could you forget you pick them every year and I'll bet you have never seen them play a game.

Hey Guru did you know that GMC was ranked 5th in their region before they were upset in the Championship game by 2 points? From 5th in the region to losing in the last sec of a game knocks you out of the NCAA Playoffs, that's a joke and a FACT!!

Perhaps the coaches get a negative perception of GMC women's basketball from somewhere.

Hey Guru,

Let me clue you in to three words......

"Success breeds contempt""

We are all well aware that you're board is the only game in town to express our opinions about how GMC gets jobbed on an annual basis....

Really there is nothing that can be done to change your opinions or the NCAA's...We didn't take care of business & lost the opportunity to prove you wrong in the tournament ...again

Be clear about this,...I write in here for laughs cause its quite obvious you've never seen GMC play & that we get under your skin.

Go right ahead, you keep giving GMC no respect (cause we don't fall in line with your opinions)... and every year we'll keep giving you the opportunity (if you know what I mean....)

You kinda remind me of the guy who takes the ball home if you don't let him win.....Don't be so naive to think WE really care about this like it is life or death.... it isn't and we post for laughs.....

... you should LOVE us !!!!!  before we started your posting..
it was like.... "what time is the game Saturday"  or
" isn't she a swell player"   yada yada... BORING !!!!!
At least when WE"RE posting the board is lively and you & your other 2 alias' have some people to banter with....

Just remember if you actually get out and SEE some teams play, & loosen up alittle maybe 260 people will tune in for your expert tournament analysis
(instead of 250).

You tell him Jr.

Pat sorry if we don't agree with everything you say. We have actualy seen GMC play unlike you. Just like when you said that GMC was going to get blown out last year at NYU and it was a 3 point game with under 2 min left.

It's easy to talk about D-1 mens hoops because you can see them play on TV, but with D-3 womens hoops you can ONLY go by who they play because I know you have never seen most of them play. And then when we play a FINAL 4 team and lose in a close game its like well you lost.

Yes this is a down year for GMC but they still must be ok if they are the #1 seed in the ECAC. But like I said they would have to be 26-1 for you to give them ANY respect. Don't be like the coaches in our league and take it out on the team because a couple of us that post on here get under your skin.

Hey Pat let me throw this against the wall and see if it sticks.

Did you know that GMC in the ONLY team with over 20 wins and has beaten at least 3 teams in the Tournament THIS year and still didn't get the invite? Now thats a FACT. But hey Medaille has ONE win against a team regionally ranked, I guess that's bigger then 3 wins against teams that are in the tournament and 2 of those were AWAY games no less.
So I guess its NOT something GMC lacks. Do your homework.

Pat Coleman

Wins against three teams in the tournament isn't the same as wins against regionally ranked, teams, the actual playoff selection criterion that GMC lacked. GMC had four shots and failed on all of them -- if it had won one of them I bet they'd have gotten in.

Wins against teams in the tournament is not one of the playoff selection criteria. And wins against Denison and Cabrini don't carry a lot of weight.

I see GMC when they play in Marymount's tournament, which they've done a couple times in the last three years. So you've seen them play a lot. How many Top 10 or Top 20 teams have you seen? Only one team on GMC's schedule is in the Top 20 now, right? And that was a 17-point loss at home.

The first part is still wrong -- but if that's the only reason you post here then I apologize for wasting your time. Here I thought you were truly ignorant in addition to being annoying. Thought we could help you and dear old dad with a dose of reality. I won't bother with you again and you can shout into the wind.

I'll probably regret getting involved in this war but the stat geek in me was intrigued by the above quote so me and a friend took a few minutes to see if that was in fact true.

Unfortunately its not and your above FACT is actually False.

Here are three other teams not dancing in the big dance with 20+ wins and at least 3 wins over current teams in the NCAA Tournament.  One even beat Marymount who defeated Gwynedd-Mercy early in the season (just for comparison sake).  There could be more than GMC and these three but there are at least four.

St. Benedict (20 wins, wins over Gustavus Adolphus, Carleton and St. Thomas)
http://www.d3hoops.com/school/SBEN/womens/2008

Kenyon (20 wins, two wins over Denison and one win over Brandeis)

Randolph-Macon (22 wins, win over Marymount and two wins over Bridgewater)
http://www.d3hoops.com/school/RMC/womens/2008

Congratulations its a nice list to be on...it means you had a really nice season.  But you aren't the only team to accomplish this feat.  Good Luck in the ECAC this weekend.

TCHoops Jr.

Pat,

I can accept you calling me ignorant & annoying so long as you are just kidding and not being disrespectful.....

now....

If you read one of my previous posts CAREFULLY...I did say it was GMC's fault for not being in the Little Dance because they simply did not take care of business.  By criteria they are not in & I agree with you !!!! I believe they are better than several in but (I don't think) anyone is super upset.

I have read many of your previous posts, last year and beyond where it appeared to me you had issues with the program because an overzealous fan(atic) bantered or ranted with you and on the board....this is part of the forum that  keeps you in business

I always sensed (& maybe I'm wrong) that because TC didn't have good "Karma" his opinion meant squat..don't begrudge anyone for being supportive of a collegiate team & A LEAGUE. Others should be so lucky.

Kudos to Ms. SID for digging up some stats & to Mondillo for being in select company.

This will be my last post as I have bills to pay and not enough time to become the expert that most are on these boards......

So as i shout my final words into the wind... I have to ask ...
did you take the ball with you when you left ?????

jr

GO Cabrini..... kick booty

BJ your KILLING me. I knew there had to be more I just wanted to see if Pat took his time to do his homework and check on that. He sits back and lets guys like you do his homework.

But you still ONLY came up with ONE team, St Benedict. I said "GMC is the only team to beat at least 3 TEAMS in the Tournament" not 3 wins. But thanks for doing the Guru's work.

PS - It's not a WAR, Pat really LOVES us.

I did not think it was meant for him..

Factcheck

Beating Juniata is indeed an accomplishment and should be celebrated. Susquehanna, Pitt Greensburg, Thiel, Brockport State, Scranton and Moravian can all say that too.

Of your three teams you beat, I don't think any one of them will be making the second round. Those teams on BJ's list will be playing on Saturday.
