Kudos to both teams on a hard fought battle at the Griffin Complex.   Great game. Emotions & noise in the stands.  Congratulations to #10 DD for the MVP for the Cavs and to #11 on the Griffins who dropped 29 pts.  #11 you had quite a run in the PAC and were quite an asset to the league.  Loved watching you play---- congratulations on a great collegiate basketball career.  Both teams worked extremely hard and deserve to win but only one winner is allowed.

Congratulations to the 2008 Women's Basketball PAC Champions.

Conratulations to Cabrini, they played great and deserved to win. Both teams played great but your right only one team can win.

And yes #11 had a great game BUT her career to not over, GMC has a 50/50 shot at an at large bid into the NCAA.

ONE time voters give the PAC some RESPECT. Its a shame there are a FEW good teams in the league and a bunch of teams that SUCK that give the league no respect.

Cabrini GOODLUCK in the NCAA playoffs, show everyone that the PAC is no push over!!!!!

Boy the COLD ONES don't taste as good after losing the Championship..

Congratulations Lady Cavs.  Knew you could do it.  It's that Never Give Up attitude that you ladies put out the court and gave it your all.  Congrats to the Lady Griffins for a hard fought game.  It came down to the last shot.  Both teams had heart.  It's a shame that someone always has to lose a game like that.

You know it's kind of interesting.  The first PAC Champion(Basketball) was the Cabrini men's team 15 years ago and it has now come full circle.  The men won the first and the ladies the last!!

Cabrini College Lady Cavaliers 2008 PAC Champions!!!

Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

TC Hoops -- based on what parts of the selection criteria should GMC be in the tournament field?

Pat the answer is no, but that being said I still believe they should get the invite. The reason being is in the past 3 seasons they got in they won their first round game and in the 2nd round game they lost to 3 final 4 teams on their home court in VERY close games that came down to the last min.

The thing that KILLS GMC EVERY year is the strenght of schedule, its NOT GMC fault that their league sucks. Every year we hear we don't play anyone and then when we go to the NCAA tournament and play these so called POWER HOUSE teams and play them right down to the wire, that has to count for something. Then there are these teams that get in and get blown out EVERY year. One thing you can count on is GMC will never get blown out. We will see when 10:00 rolls around, hopefully GMC will sneak in!!!!

Lil Nasty

LISTEN PAT U HAVE Juniata AS THE 5 SEED GMC DID BEAT THEN THIS YEAR
OR I MAYBE WRONG SO YOU TELL ME WHO THE BETTER TEAM.

Pat Coleman

Juniata is a Pool B team. Gwynedd-Mercy is not eligible to be selected in comparison to Juniata.

TC -- none of those things you cite are part of the selection criteria, unfortunately.

GMC can't do anything about the ever-diminishing strength of its league. But if it's that weak, GMC should win it. What it can do is win the games against other playoff contenders. Head-to-head losses to TCNJ, Marymount and Albright keep GMC off of our projected board until it's too late for them to get in.

Lady Cavs have a top road ahead of them.  They play Messiah which is in Grantham, PA (near Harrisburg).  They are 25-2.  Only loss at home was to Kean.  Lady Cavs got beat by Kean as well.  Common opponents Messiah 4-1, Cabrini 0-3.

Good luck Cabrini!!!

Wanted to throw my two cents in before I'm out....

Congrats to the Champion Cavs.... Saturday was a tremendous game...loads of twists, turns and emotion.... An 8 point lead was never safe... First time in many GMC-Cabrini games where I thought Cabrini made their outside shots.... Big shots at key times, late in the game
(especially D'Amico's three when they were down six)....Really was a shame Rosar (GMC's big girl) got in foul trouble and eventually fouled out with 5 minutes left....might have been a different ending with her still playing at the end.

GMC most definitely have the MVP of the league....A no brainer
I want to see a better D3 point guard than Tierney.... She basically took over the game for GMC.. really was unstopable and will be sorely missed.

I was sure GMC would not get an at large bid to NCAA's because of some non-conference losses.... Kudos to Mondillo for scheduling them....
I say schedule all the top dogs.... no guts ..no glory.

Lastly, I'll go out on a small limb and say Cabrini beats Messiah AND
Wm. Patterson.... & GMC wins the ECAC South Tournament.

One of these days the "Guru" here at D3 is going to realize that as bad as the PAC may appear, the top 3 PAC teams will ALWAYS go toe to toe with anyone in the MAC, Centennial & NJAC and most of the other Division 3 schools in the country..... when it win or go home !!!!!!

TCHoops Jr.  You are right she took over that game.  She really is a good player.  She probably should get league MVP. There was a period in the game when she couldn't miss, she was just amazing.  Then she had that airball and then she seemed to come back down to earth.  (Cabrini fans still worried about her though).  But I just couldn't understand why it took them so long in the last 10 seconds of the game to get her the ball.  I was kind of blocked (sightline) to see what was happening. Was it that Cabrini was really defending her hard I'm guessing because I didn't see what was happening down by the benches.

You are really going out on a limb on Cabrini over Messiah game.  But anything could happen.  Just putting it out there.
Ask and you shall receive.  I'm asking for several Cabrini wins in the NCAAs.

Tierney played at least 36 minutes of the game (maybe 38)..... had the ball in her hands 75% of the time, was dogged start to finish with 3 different defenders, likely was gassed by the end....

I don't really remember the one airball you refer to but to me it's mute....she had a relatively good shot at the end that sat on the rim and just spilled out (I did feel a blast of hot air from the Cabrini side when it did !!!!!)...

These other conferences are overrated especially the MAC...
( & the PAC is way underrated).  Scranton is the biggest cuprit....
has the name & reputation.... I don't believe for one minute that they don't get preferencial treatment from the NCAA committee.

In this tournament its win or go home and everyone comes to play

Cabrini breaks it open at the end and beats Messiah by 7...you'll see

Yeah, probably right she was probably gassed, being dogged the entire game, but she still played tremondously.

Regarding the airball I think it was at about the 6/7 minute mark.  I just happened to notice it as a Cavs fan.  Because up until that shot, it seemed she didn't miss.

It's just like any team. When you have a reputation, whether it's winning or losing, it follows you until you change it consistently.
