New page look nice. This may be a balanced conference this year. Gwynedd-Mercy looks to be the team to beat, based on the pre-season pick, but there are a few who could challange.

My brother attended the Marywood//Centenary game last night.  It was a regular double header - women's & men's games.  He stayed for the womens game & came home after the conclusion - couldn't talk cause he was "starved".  Does Centenary offer hotdogs or any food for that matter at any of their games?  If not, it might not be a bad idea to do so.  It's part of the fun.

I talked about this on the MAC thread but it was regarding Marywood.  After the first couple of games it looks as if it might not be Marywood but Centenary that is really going to benefit from the realignment of the conference and the departure of Alvernia and Misericordia.  With the three new teams from the NEAC moving to the CSAC they are now in the CSAC North.  GMC moves to the CSAC South.  Centenary last year was 10-6 in the conference.  But they went 1-5 against Vern, Miseri and GMC.  So that means they went 9-1 against the rest of the conference.  Their only lost there was to Cabrini.  With the realignment, they still play GMC and Cabrini--but only once.  Granted some of the other teams have improved but I'm not sure if they're improved enough to beat Centenary.   I'm not sure about Keystone but they already have 1 loss to Centenary and it looks that won't change when Centenary hosts.  Baptist Bible was 9-7 last year in conference play but they're not in the NEAC anymore and PBU didn't impress against Cabrini.  So with all that.  Let's say against Cabrini and GMC it will go the same route.  That's two losses and maybe one of the teams from the North and or from the South catches Centenary on an off night.  Or they catch Cabrini or GMC.  They could go anywhere from 14-2 to 12-4.  Which could put them as at least a 3 seed or quite possible a #1 seed and if that's the case they could be seeing a home game in the CSAC playoffs-- maybe even two games.   :-X

Congrats to the Lady Cavs of Cabrini on a thrilling win.  Deana DiAmico hits a 30 footer at the buzzer to send it into OT, where they finally put Albright away. :)

Last night's game that saw Cedar Crest darn near beat Neumann,  61/59 if memory serves, stand as a warning that The Falcons are movin on up!  GO Cedar Crest!

There are a couple of HUUUUGE games coming up in the conference for the ladies.  There are three undefeated teams in conference play currently.  In their next game Centenary, who leads the CSAC North at 7-0, takes on the Lady Griffins of GMC(currently 5-0, leading the CSAC South) at home on the 24th.   This is going to be the best matchup so far of the season.  Which team will take the early lead in the conference?  If Gwynedd can come out with a victory(which I believe will be a tough game) they then play at home against the Lady Cavs of Cabrini who also could be undefeated going into the Monday night game.  (They have Immaculata at home on the 22nd and then travel to MSG in NY to take on Neumann on Sat the 24th).  So we could have two games where undefeateds play!  :)

Which team ultimately will come out unscathed by the end of the day on Monday??

No offense Mailsy, but according to the activity on this board, I think it should be CSAC fan.

Good Morning, Lefty 2.  No offense to you either, but it's my very firm belief that there are tons of lurking fans out there for all our Mid Atlantic leagues.  Also, the way these teams are jumping from one league to another, it certainly pays to keep up with what ALL teams are doing.  Personally i was always a fan of Centenary cause of Coach Kahlil.  She played for two years at DVC.  Now, next Monday night my Aggies will be making the trip to Hackettstown to play the Cyclones.  Ya just never know who you're gonna face on that court on any given night.

Kate,

I was kidding.  As I type this, I can see that there are two guests/lurkers viewing this page.

While your allegiance to all things Del Val, including former players, is admirable, it doesn't make you a CSAC fan.  Your disdain for Gwynedd-Mercy disqualifies you.

This discussion is already the most lengthy debate in this room since last season.

Lefty 2, for the record, i really don't know that much about GMC, other than they are on top of the league most seasons.  You should have been on our site when Scranton was in the MAC, heavens my husband & i were practically thrown out of the last game between the Lady Royals & the Aggies.  All that said, i still miss that team & their posters.  When push comes to shove, i'm for ANYTHING to hype college women's b'ball. And, the Super Bowl wasn't exactly what i had in mind  ;)

Both Cabrini and Gwynedd win today.  Monday night will be a tough game and the winner will take the lead in the Conference.  Let's go Lady Cavs!!!  :)
