Pat, Good idea.  That is what I had intended but I am technologically challenged.

Ursinus fans,
Happened to be driving along Route 202 in the Hatboro(PA) area over the weekend and passed a road sign ad for a Dennis Stanton basketball camp, so it appears he's still in the basketball business. Dennis was an outstanding shooter for a very good Ursinus team(with Mike McGarvey, among others, also) in 2003 when I saw them play at Scranton in the NCAA tourney that year.

I see that the Centennial Conference has moved to an East/West divisional structure for basketball (5 teams in each division). Result is a reduction of conference games from 18 to 13, as you play your divisional foes twice and non-divisional teams once. Division alignments are East - Swat, Ursinus, Wash College, Muhlenberg, Haverford; West - Dickinson, F&M, JHU, Gettysburg, McDaniel. For 24-25 you are very likely looking at 3 of top 4 teams in the conference (JHU, F&M, Gettysburg) in same division.

No mention of Ursinus or Trevor Wall???  You might be surprised.

Stretch4

That is a glaring omission in the write up. Also noticed that they omitted another returning all conference player in Rubino from Muhlenberg. Wall is a beast and a player I have enjoyed watching very much over the course of his career. Not really sure why he continues to fly under the radar, but he is one of the best kept secrets in the country (IMO).

Swat looked like an average team the other night when they lost to Albright. I suspect they will get better as the season progresses, but they definitely have some holes right now and may take some lumps with their challenging non-conference schedule. You have to respect their program, but in terms of the overall level of talent and depth on their roster, they are down. Great opportunity for a team like Ursinus this season to push for the top spot in the eastern division of the Centennial conference.

Both those guys were listed as seniors last year...maybe didn't know if they were returning? How good are teams sending in information packets to the conference?

Fair point about teams sending in their info, but the poll and related story was posted a week ago. The Centennial teams have all had their rosters out for weeks before. Doesn't seem like a big ask to check a few rosters before finalizing the article. FYI ... Parra is a 5th year guy also who was listed as a senior on F&M's roster last year.

Greek Tragedy

I did see that, so that didn't help my argument. At least the league has a pre-season poll. There are still conferences out there that don't release one, which is still odd for me.

Good exchange Greek and Stretcn4.  Great article on Trevor Wall https://www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/1323757. Young man is a class act who might have been POY last year if Bears had a better record.  Bears will be a tough match up this year, especially if they improve their defense. Go Bears!

Wall was definitely on the radar for preseason All American.  There's an awareness of his ability out there.

Sam Davidson made one of the most impossible shots at Swarthmore on Saturday. Unfortunately as they reviewed the shot to determine if the shot had gotten off in time just before halftime, the officials said his foot was out of bounds. The shot would have counted based on the time left on the clock.  The shot occurs at about 1:05 of the broadcast.

Maybe I'm falling victim to having only seen a video clip on social media but if that was the call that means there should have been time remining in the half. The clips shows the Swarthmore bench booking it to the locker room - did the officials bring them back to actually finish the half or did they shrug away what should have been the remaining 0.3-0.4 seconds?

The half was over.  No return for any time left.

The ball was in the air with time left on the clock, so if the call was that he stepped out before releasing the ball how had time expired? Either he stepped out and there was time left or time expired as the ball was in the air, which means he didn't step out. Only one of these things can be true.
