Way yo go LFC!!! Great start to the non-conference season.
Keep up the good plays for the conference season...and those 3's!!!  :o :o

WLCALUM83

MSOE/St. Norbert joined in progress:  St. Norbert up 10-2, about 15:30 left in 1st half.

WLCALUM83

#50
Halftime:  St. Norbert 42, MSOE 13.

MSOE's Chappell getting her points, but very little support to this point. Boatload of turnovers are further hurting the cause. St. Norbert's White had 14 first-half points.

WLCALUM83

Just shy of 10 minutes left now:  St. Norbert 59, MSOE 29.

(MSOE's Guthrie stepping it up a bit offensively).

WLCALUM83

Final:  St. Norbert 78, MSOE 48.

MSOE's Chappell held to well below her scoring average. Guthrie had  30 points, but the Raiders appeared to be overmatched (only 7 players available). St. Norbert outshot MSOE 46% to 24% from the field.

First off, Congratulations to LFC on the great season that they are having, they do deserve all of the credit that they are receiving, but I do believe that Carroll is also deserving of some credit.  Last year, it took all the way until the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament to prove that that they were a legitimate top 25 team and to get d3hoops to recognize them.  Now this year, they sit at 18-3, 13-1 in conference (a better record than last year) with NO recognition once again.  Let me make this official they are a top 25 team, in addition, Crystal Hoewisch, a junior pre-season All-American has made the d3hoops team of the week TWICE and another junior, Kim Wickert, just made it last week.  Therefore, this shows their balance and ability to have some of the top athletes in the nation, but yet NO team recognition.  Anyway... this team deserves national recognition, stay tuned for additional proof.

What's the win on Carroll's schedule that screams out "TOP 25 TEAM"?

I don't think it takes ONE win to be put in the top 25, how about the 18 that they have won, and two of the 3 losses were to top 25 teams.  Your point is taken, although if you look at the schedule they have beat some tough teams i.e. Eau Claire, who has beat some of the teams who are in the poll , not to mention the other top teams in the MWC.  Wouldn't you think their record at least warrants others receiving votes or some recognition.  Also remember that as Calvin sits at #2, Carroll was the team that knocked them out in the first round of the NCAA tournament last year, in which both teams rosters are still pretty much the same.

I just saw the regional rankings, congratulations to LFC at #1 and the Carroll College Lady Pioneers at #4 in the Central region, one of the toughest regions in the nation!  Good press for the MWC!  Also, good win against the Redhawks last night, Pios!

Hello MWC fans,

Congratulations to Carroll and Lake Forest on receiving NCAA bids.  Regular IWU supporter here.

Here's a bit of what Carroll can look for:  IWU lost two post players (one before the season started and one after two games), and so the team is very guard-oriented.  The usual starting lineup comprises four guards.  Top scorers are Mallory Heydorn at 16.9 ppg, Sarah Bull at 15.7, and Claire Sheehan at 13.6.  Other major players include posts Thea Rogers, Crystal Dye, Colleen Caplice, and Becky Kiverts, and backup guards Tasha Gaston-Bell, Kerri Gravlin, and Elyse Sanchez.  Scoring is usually quite balanced, with 4-6 players in double figures.  The Titans like the press and do it effectively.

Anything you can tell us about Carroll?  Looking forward to Friday!
You'll never walk alone.
