Just over 15 minutes left in 2nd:  Carroll 49, IL Wesleyan 34. (Pioneers out of the gate hot in 2nd).

Over 12 minutes left in 2nd half:  Carroll 57, IL Wesleyan 36. (Pioneers are hitting virtually everything they're putting up this half.)

Carroll 86, IL Wesleyan 59. Final. (Have to wonder how much closer this would have been if the Titans' M Heydorn had been 100%). Pioneers' Wickert and Hoewisch had great scoring games tonight.

Congratulations to Carroll.  Sitting at home by the radio it sounds like the Pioneers played a near-perfect game.  IWU coach Mia Smith said she really doesn't know what happened yet; she felt that she had a good game plan but it just wasn't executed well.  Mallory Heydorn had a very good game (19 points)--I don't she could have made the difference tonight at full strength.  Carroll was the better team tonight.  Good luck tomorrow!

I would also like to congratulate Lake Forest and Carroll on making it to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament.  Both did a great job of representing the MWC.  Also, a special congratulations to Crystal Hoewisch of Carroll College for being named MWC player of the year.  Great season Pios, can't wait until next year!
