Mr. Ypsi

Titans will play the loser of tonight's game (Ripon vs. Webster) at 3:30 tomorrow.

Considering the circumstances, that has got to be Pankau's best game ever - ONE hit after the second inning!

Titans are staring down the barrel of a 2-0 start in the regional. I'd take them over either team tomorrow.

BigPoppa... I bet webster does work.. I know there are all of you SLIAC haters out there.. But that just helps build the fire for those in the SLIAC and past players.

I am not a SLIAC hater. I am a realist and IWU is really playing well right now. They just knocked off the #1 seed... why wouldn't I take them to beat the #3/4 seed tomorrow?

Just because I do not stroke the ego of the SLIAC does not mean I am a hater. I am a CCIW guy, plain and simple. In fact, read my Central Region preview and you will see that I listed Webster as the Conderella of the Central Regional.

BP, you also listed IWU as the team most likely to disappoint ;D

True. But I am very happy to be wrong. Pankau stepped up today. IWU needs to get the bats going if they want to stick around until the weekend.

Here is what I said about IWU:

Most likely to disappoint:: Illinois Wesleyan. How is it possible for a No. 6 seed to disappoint? Then Titans have underachieved all season long and appear to have finally put things together. They have very good pitching, but have been hamstrung by the CCIW's worst batting average (.285). IWU has had a bad habit of wasting great pitching performances by scoring very few runs for their pitchers.[/b]

IWU got a great pitching performance and scored few(2) runs. IWU did what I said they would and almost wasted Pankau's gem.

Big Poppa...your preview also said that Webster was one of the few teams in this regional that played in the post-season last year.  Webster did not play in the post season last year.

Mr. Ypsi

RHIT got three runs in the 2nd; leads NCC 3-0, with NCC batting in the bottom of the 4th.

Mr. Ypsi

RHIT wins 5-4 in 11 innings.

So far the regional is going as predicted - #6 over #1 and #5 over #2! ;D

BigPoppa

Webster is taking care of business tonight! Ladies and gentlemen... We may have a changing of the guard in the Central Region.

By somewhere around 2 tomorrow, the game intended to kiss goodbye to the 5th or 6th seed will mark the end for either the #1 or #2 seed.

Crazy tourney, yet most posters (unlike the NCAA) foresaw IWU and RHIT going deep.

I really like Rose-Hulman and I think if IWU can get by Webster today, they are in great shape. The Webster/IWU winner has a really nice chance to make the long run.

Just wanted to post some players stats from yesterdays Webster vs. Ripon game.
Webster:
Will Savage: 9.0IP  4H  0R  0ER  3BB  6K - Pretty good day for him. He now posts a 9-0 record.

Victor Valdez 2-5 3rbis
Zach Little  2-2 2runs scored
Baseball players get to every base.

I believe IWU plays Ripon, with Webster matching up with Rose Hulman, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
