By somewhere around 2 tomorrow, the game intended to kiss goodbye to the 5th or 6th seed will mark the end for either the #1 or #2 seed.

Crazy tourney, yet most posters (unlike the NCAA) foresaw IWU and RHIT going deep.

I really like Rose-Hulman and I think if IWU can get by Webster today, they are in great shape. The Webster/IWU winner has a really nice chance to make the long run.

I believe IWU plays Ripon, with Webster matching up with Rose Hulman, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

You are right, IWU/Ripon today. My bad.

I'll take BV, IWU, and Webster today. Goodbye Ripon and NCC. I bet all teams that lost in the midwest wish they were in this bracket. Actually, they're probably more focused on surviving the day.

According to the tourney website, the IWU/Ripon game is currently on hold due to rain.  Anyone know more about the weather there?

According to Yahoo Weather, things don't look real promising for resuming today, though rain should end by tomorrow afternoon.  If the tourney gets pushed back a day, the players are in for a shock on Sunday - sunny and 93!

Games postponed until noon on Friday. IWU-Ripon first up, followed by Webster-Rose-Hulman.

Mr. Ypsi

If I'm interpreting (and correctly predicting the make-up schedule) correctly, looks like, win or lose, IWU has a day-night DH tomorrow (game 5, then game 7).  If so, I sure hope game 7 is the 'winners showdown' to be in the driver's seat! ;)

I assume they will just go for games 5, 6, and 7 tomorrow, or will they try to get in four games to begin catching up?

Just Bill

If they are starting at noon, there's no way they can get four games in. I'd guess just 5, 6 and 7 tomorrow.

The plan right now is three games on Friday, starting at noon, and four on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

I hope the NCAA realizes that they can't possibly cram the rest of the tourney into 2 days.  As the schedule reads now, if IWU wins tomorrow to eliminate Ripon, then the BV or the Webster/RHIT loser would have to win 4 games on Saturday to advance to the World Series.  That is completely unfair when there is a built-in rain day for these tournaments.  I can't think of any reason to at least delay the "rematch, if necessary" game till Sunday.....well, I guess except the hotel rooms for the two teams so that must be the reason.

Sunday's looking pretty likely, because I believe the NCAA doesn't allow a team to play more than twice in a day. Not positive, but I think that's the rule.

Two games is the max in a day. The same thing happened last year in the Central Region and games were pushed into the following day.

Looks like the regional website is mistaken.  According to that schedule, a team could possibly play 4 consecutive games tomorrow at 10:00, 1:30, 5:00, & 8:00.  I thought that sounded absurd.

Mr. Ypsi

They've started play earlier than listed.  Ripon leads 1-0 going to the bottom of the first.

Mr. Ypsi

OUCH!  IWU has reverted to the sloppy team of most of the season instead of the dangerous team of late.

Ripon scored four unearned runs in the top of the second on two walks, two errors, and ONE hit - a 3-run HR. :(

Now 5-0 going to the bottom of the second.

Mr. Ypsi

Titans get one back in the bottom of the 2nd on a double and two singles; now 5-1.

I've unfortunately got to go out for a while; hope to make it back for the final innings (and hope to see a better situation by then!).

CCIWFAN6

The Titans score 4 in the bottom of the 4th to take a 6-5 lead.
