Mr. Ypsi

DuHadway's day is finished; a single, walk, two fielder's choices, and another single have produced one run and men on first and second with two outs.  As predicted, Stanley is the reliever.

Webster still ahead, 2-1.

Mr. Ypsi

And Zack Scott gives him a rude greeting - a three-run tater!  IWU takes the lead, 4-2.

Mr. Ypsi

Despite the rude greeting by Zach Scott, it looks like Stanley is as advertised.  Titans go 1,2,3 in the 5th.  After 5, IWU 4, Webster 2.

If Scott keeps it going, the Titans need some 2008-vintage Kulavic!

Mr. Ypsi

Valdez led off the 6th with a double (Webster's first extra-base hit), went to third on an infield out, and scored on another infield out.  IWU still ahead, 4-3, going to the bottom of the 6th.

I noticed Biagini left the game after being hit by a pitch and being thrown out stealing. Anyone know how serious his injury may be?

Mr. Ypsi

I'm just going off livestats, so don't know.

In the bottom of the 6th, Titans add one on two walks and a single; now 5-3.

Mr. Ypsi

Kulavic is adding more drama than my heart really needs, but he's getting the job done!  Webster's 7th consisted of K, double, K, long fly out.  Still 5-3.

Mr. Ypsi

After seven, still 5-3.

Joe Sweeney is in to pitch for Kulavic.

Mr. Ypsi

Way to begin, Joe!  Gorloks go 1,2,3 in the 8th.

Mr. Ypsi

Aaahhh - breathing room!

Stanley finally escapes the bottom of the 8th, but a single, walk, double, single, and SF make it 8-3, with just three outs to go!

Mr. Ypsi

TITANS WIN!!!  Final is 8-3, but without that 8th inning cushion, I would've been VERY nervous.  After getting the first two batters easily, Sweeney yielded two singles and a walk to load the bases, before striking out the final batter.  Can't the Titans ever do things the easy way?!

Now to sit back and rest while BV, RHIT, and Webster eliminate each other.  Does anyone know if Pankau will be available tomorrow?

Mr. Ypsi

After four innings, RHIT on top of BV, 5-2.

Mr. Ypsi

BV with a big top of the 5th.  6 singles lead to a 6-5 lead and a pitching change - still only one out and runners a 1st and 2nd.

Mr. Ypsi

New RHIT pitcher is Jim Bob Schuler (gotta love the name!).  He strikes out the first batter, but yields a 2-run double to the second.  As we head to the bottom of the fifth, BV now leads 8-5.
