What's the deal with "Live" stats????  Once again, they are only updating at the end of every half inning...that's not 'LIVE"!!!!

It is down right now... Carthage up 8-4 in bottom of 8th.
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

Carthage wins 8-7 after Fontbonne puts up 3 in the top of the ninth.

warrior35

Well, Carthage tried to give Fontbonne a chance... final 8-7 Carthage.

MyArmHurts

Fontbonne outhit Carthage 14 11. But they couldn't get hit #15 that would have tied the game.

Millsaps gets 3 in the first for a 3 0 lead after 2. Millsaps third basemen scored from first on a single to left center. The wartburg outfielders and catcher expected him to stop at third but he never even hesitated.

How difficult could be to make it "LIVE?"  Good that UWW is streaming the audio or it would really be disappointing.  ;)

Wash U leads UWW 2-0 in the 7th.

Hawks win 3-2!!! Another one to file under "Stranger things have happened"....Wash U gets sloppy with handling the ball, commits three errors to lose the game

The win guarantees the Warhawks will be playing on Saturday...and I will be there for it...even though I hate to miss seeing the Preakness live

Unbelievable melt down by Wash U.  I've been watching WARHAWK baseball for 41 years and this was one of the strangest endings I've ever seen.  It was so bizarre I had to check play by play to remember how it happened.

Carthage was cruising and then changed pitchers.  Fontbonne nearly pulled it out.

Millsaps looks pretty good.

Wisconsin-Whitewater 9th -
Wong reached on an error by ss.
Millar out at first 1b to 2b, SAC, bunt; Wong advanced to second.
Trepanier singled. Leavitt pinch ran for Trepanier.
Wessels fouled out to 1b.
Wong advanced to third on an error by c, scored, unearned.
Rechlitz reached on an error by cf;
Leavitt scored, unearned. 2 runs, 1 hit, 3 errors, 1 LOB.

...and remember, the play-by-play doesn't include the fact that Trepanier's hit should have been caught (miscommunication bewteen CF and 2B) and there was also a foul pop-up that, although it was scored a no-play, should have been caught also.

That one of the toughest-luck losses I've ever seen for the Wash U. kid. He was outstanding.

Today's games are postponed...play resumes tomorrow with potentially four games played

Wartburg won today to stay alive.  It looks like they won't play again today so I expect them to bring back Jerrold Martijn Sunday morning and that's going to be a tough matchup for someone.

Carthage and Washington are playing now with Carthage up 3-1 and Washington batting in the bottom of the 2nd.  Live Stats can be like watching paint dry when they are keeping up from batter to batter.  This deal about posting after a half inning is complete is unbearable.  I don't recall ever seeing it done that way in the past so it must be done this way by choice--a poor choice if you ask me.

It sure has been a long time since they have posted a half inning.  Has Washington retaken the lead?  Did we have a bases loaded, two out situation?  It really takes out the drama when you can't follow the play by play.  At least that won't be a problem in the 4:00 game with both teams providing coverage.

Ahh, Washington scored one to cut the lead to 3-2.  I think I'll go out for a walk.

Wash U's comeback fizzled - Carthage up 20 to 2 in the 8th! :o

Impressive showing by Carthage today.  21-3 final score.  Carthage had 21 runs on 21 hits, Wash U. only had one error and Carthage only had 1 HR.  Now THAT is getting it done offensively.  Carthage had 14 different guys get ABs.  Perez must have had a heck of a game too with a low pitch count as he pitched a complete game, while the offense was having long innings almost every inning.

Watching the Millsaps video and listening to the UWW audio - audio is a little ahead of the video, but not a bad deal.  Millsaps 5 UWW 4 in the bottom of 5.
