Guys, I can honestly say that GNAC never looks at these games with rosey eye glasses. I was riding the falcon wave last year, talking about how we will dominate Alvernia.. I took it HPLC style (inside joke with Richard Stockon) and broke down every aspect of the match-up. GNAC said, I have a bad feeling about that match-up. So, what he types is accurate...

I will go 89-81 Albertus. I just think Albertus has to many scoring options. Also, I think Davis and Watson will really be up for the game and give a lot of energy to the role players... Digger Phelps always say, role players are worth 5-6 points more than their average at home. Albertus defense has been horrible the last month, I think Purchase scores a lot of easy buckets, however, Albertus makes enough stops late in second half to pull out the victory.

Darius forcing the issue because his shots not falling. Jennings starts out hot and picks up a dumb second foul... As I'm typing Darius hits one lol

Going 0-for at the line ain't gonna cut it lol

AMC takes a 42-31 lead into half. Darius shot his way out of it rather quickly haha hitting 3 in a row to end the frame. GNAC if I was down there with you I'da been heckling the coach to get out of that zone fast. Saw he did so on that last possession. As long as Vic stops launching 3s (I know he can hit them, just not tonight, especially against a zone with a 7'2 guy to clean up all his misses) we'll be alright.

I'm not sure how you guys feel...I KNOW we can shoot ourselves out of slumps (like Darius did the first half), but to start a half if stuffs not falling slooowwww down. Use some clock and get a good shot. Couple quick shots this half and they're right back in it now only down 5.

5-14 from the line by my count...

Good thing I had a 6 pack...which is now a 0 pack for this game haha. Freaking mid season out of conference game I'm losing my mind. Hopefully you guys can shed some more light on the game. The pre-game T, and did Mitch get T'd up (to stop a fast break I might add? haha) in particular?

Lil dave, what a game! I think this game tells us about the 2013-14 Falcons....I won't go crazy with box score, but I'll point out some things...

1. Jennings got a T for a uniform violation before the game began.
2. Mitch could have had a few T, but so could have the Purchase coach, who the crowd called sweater vest.
3. Dixon is a good player, he was yapping with the falcon freaks all night.
4. Eian Davis is the fastest guard in the region, maybe nation.. He completely took over the game in first half and down the stretch in second.
5. Purchase couldn't shoot from the outside, really went cold at the end of the game.
6. Albertus played great defense the first 10 minutes of the game, but couldn't hit any open jumpers.
7. Vic and Watson probably had their worst offensive games and Albertus still scored 87.
8. The 7'2 foot Neri is learning the game but had an amazing offensive game, he worked the glass with a soft touch. He is a monster.

PJ, it was for the undershirt? He's been wearing it all season...or was it like, not white or something tonight? And as much as we'll enjoy the win (for a night, as they prepare for JWU) 11-23 from the line is gonna get us bounced from the NCAAs. Honestly surprised we won by 8 finally seeing the final free throw numbers...

I didn't realize the Nixon kid had 38.. damn.. he had 7 threes.. He wanted the game, they just have no one else who can make an outside shot. Yes, free throws killed... they shot under 50%.. They need to clean that up.. Wiggins and Watson had off shooting nights..

Yea, same sweatshirts. The Purchase coach said he needs to take that off. The refs waited until he came on court and whistle blew..

10 minutes left, Albertus down 4.. and they won the game. Good opponent. I like how they fought. They needed a win like that...

Big game versus JWU however.. I am going to look at some stats.. I think JWU is a better scoring team than Purchase but not a better defensive team.

lildave678

yeah I can definitely see a 90-80ish game. I think JWU will be more athletic offensively, but they won't have the presence of Neri both defensively and offensively. If Vic gets held to single digits against JWU I'd be surprised.

Haven't seen J&W yet this season, but I think PJ is right.  Probably better offensively, but also worse defensively than Purchase.  Even with Lamonte Thomas there, there were more a team geared towards the offensive end of the floor and less on the defensive end of the floor.  A score for Albertus in the high 70's or 80's should be enough to get them the W.  J&W can score, I don't they can match the Falcons if they get to 80+, however.

Nice win for them tonight!  Hopefully they don't sleepwalk, these next 2 opponents (J&W Wednesday and at St. Joes on Saturday) are equally as, if not more important then the Purchase game since these games count towards the GNAC.

What an outstanding game. I'm not to run through stats or anything of that nature because you guys have already covered enough. Just a tremendous win in an electrifying atmosphere. No other way to put it really. Albertus during the game moved up to number 16 in the national pulls while purchase moved up to number 13 making this an even more impressive win. Well done Falcons. Now we just have to stay up for Wednesday's game against JWU. Thank God it's at home. If this one was on the road following this win tonight I would've been a little bit more nervous.

Also, John Pearson was there from news Channel 8. Set your DVRs or just stay up and watch the news at 11 I'm sure there will be a little piece on them.

Wow what a game tonight!!! Awesome atmosphere, awesome game. Me and pj got Dixon to yap at us in the beginning of the second half, and let's just say he went Reggie miller on us after that lol. Started going off. But alas we prevail 87-79(I wanted my 85-80 prediction to come true but let me not be greedy lol). I think the star of this game, if I had to choose one, was Davis. The kid is unstoppable. But everyone played great. Our D showed they turn it up when they want too. Albertus could have won this game by 20, but bad free throw shooting and some missed opportunities to put the game away prevented that. Hats off to purchase they are a solid team, but the better team won imo. 4 technicals? Woof. Sky is the limit at this point, big game two more days, keep it rolling!

Also Jennings played 3-4 mins in first half or our lead might have been 15-20. In fact it was 41-26(I believe) and we had a 3 rim in and out, and think if that drops purchase maybe doesn't make this a close game in second half
