Tried to watch the St Joe game tonight but they wanted my credit card first.  NO WAY.  So I enjoyed watching the Anna Maria / Rivier game.  Anna Maria was up 14 to 17 points most of the game and won easily. AM is an interesting team.  They are not super quick, not super athletic, not dominating in the post but they know how to win.  They will pass the ball 5, 6, 7, times in one possession just to get the shot that they want, which is either a layup or an open 3 pointer.  They really move the ball and are patient with their possessions.  They don't appear to care who scores but just keep looking for the open man.  I enjoy watching basketball played that way.  They don't have a " pure " shooter but they can make open shots when left unguarded.  I don't think they have the foot speed or the size to pull off an upset over AMC or JWU but they will make it interesting.
Rivier is just short on talent, even though they play hard.  While watching this game I kept thinking how could Emmanuel lose to Rivier back in December?  I still don't know.

It's ridiculous to charge money to watch a broadcast...particularly one that probably isn't any good to boot.  Heck, you don't even have to pay to watch some Division I games online!

Albertus beats St. Joes 80-66. Like everyone else, I dydbt pay to watch the video. St joes has got to be kidding me. 10 fts for amc all game. For a team that attacks the rim, that's very very very low. No surprise though, it's st joes refs

As all of us here I didn't watch either. However, following the live stats it looked like St Joes cut it to 3 in the 2nd half. Next time I looked AMC was back up 16 so a great response there. Vic was huge with 25-14-5, and all 5 starters in double figures. Looks like Mitch is starting to shorten the bench as the games become more meaningful. Julian was the only one with a significant amount of minutes. If foul trouble is avoided it seems to be Julian, and then whoever looks the best that day. Today, Marc Wilson got the next highest with 7. Some days it seems to be Walters, others Walker, sometimes Mitchell (who didn't even play this game). Good road win for the Falcons all and all.

Hi Guys,  I noticed that Victor, Eian, and Tavon, played 40, 40, and 37 minutes respectively.  Was the game really that close?  I saw St Joe play three times this year and even though they move the ball nicely, they could not control the rebounds at either end of the floor.  Has that changed?  They usually give up a lot of offensive rebounds giving the opponents extra possessions.  That has kept them out of a lot of games this year.  What did you guys observe?

Ferraro13

That's some dedication that drive! Lol that's awesome.

Saint, I only saw updated stats. Albertus seemed in control the whole way. I actually didn't know they cut it to three in the second half. I was checking here and there, surprised if that's the case. I know its always a tough game up there, bc they play well at home. Those zebras don't help lol

Waiting for D3s report like a kid on Christmas Eve lol

New to the board, been following the GNAC for a few years now, thought I'd share some things I noticed. First, looking at the stats, looks like it was a 7 point game at halftime and then St. Joe's cut the lead to 1 at about the 10 minute mark of the second half yesterday.

To Saint-Paul's point, Albertus had 14 offensive rebounds yesterday, not surprising given the size difference of the two teams. But, if you look at the team stats on the GNAC website, St. Joe's gives up the second fewest offensive rebounds per game and actually has a positive rebounding margin (http://thegnac.com/sports/mbkb/2014-15/teams?sort=orebpgopp&r=0&pos=def).

I think the GNAC's pretty much played out as expected this year, with Anna Maria's surge into 3rd maybe the only minor surprise. Two games I'm looking forward to; the rematch of JWU/Albertus @ JWU and the two Suffolk/St. Joe's matchups. Obviously JWU/Albertus is the one that everyone has circled, but I think Suffolk and St. Joe's are the two teams that'll be looking to fight for that 4th seed and final home quarter-final down the stretch.

Welcome to the board GNAC! Any particular affiliation?

Ok Albertus fans!!! I have arrived home and it seems there is much anticipation!!!

Before I begin I just want to say I am not going to reference the horrible officiating in this game. It was just beyond bad but the Falcons pushed through it all and with the exception of James Jennings getting a T which led to his 5th foul......for the most part the entire team kept their emotions in check and played the game with a chip on their shoulder because we all know what happened to them last year up in Standish.

I need to start off first and foremost with our defense in yesterday contest. This was without question the best defensive effort I have seen Albertus put together not just this year but maybe in the last 3 years! They made St. Joes work for every single shot they took. The ball pressure was outstanding. Sledge absolutely locked down Simonds and even though he had 21 points both of his 3 pointers where "garbage" 3's with one banking off the glass and the other coming in the last minute of play. They created 19 St. Joes turnovers and scored 19 points off of those turnovers. Just a tremendous defensive effort from everyone involved. As we all know it will come down to defense with this team and if they play like they did yesterday I really think it would be difficult for any team anywhere to compete with us.

From an individual standpoint clearly by the stat sheet alone you could all see Big Vic stole the show which he in fact did. Just a monster of a game for him. He had points, rebounds, blocks and even had a few steal which lead to open court dunks. Just did it all yesterday.

Player of the day however goes to Lemar Larsen, this young man night in and night out takes a beating down low and continues to just go about his business and play a great game. It seemed to me like he had his hands on every loose ball and flew all over the place for rebounds. He truly is the definition of a leader. The way he carries himself on the court is just different in a way than anybody else I have seen. A tremendous attitude from a really nice kid. Its a pleasure watching him play the game. He is a grinder!

Both Eian and Sledge did their thing as usual. Pushed the tempo the entire game and were both able to slow the ball up and run the offense when needed to. These two together are a special combination. Its interesting because the last few games you can see on the court that they have gotten into it with each other at some points......Sometimes frustrated with plays and distribution of the ball but no matter what these two always seem to tap each other on the backside and put it behind them. They are both so damn competitive and once in a while they lose their "cool" but if you look closely in my opinion it actually fires them up in a good way and they start to feed off the other. As they go we go.

Now to when St. Joes pulled within 3 points, yes this was a classic run of a team getting a little hot at home and have the ball and whistle (I know I said I wasn't going to refer to the refs but had no choice) go in their favor on about 5 different trips down the court with each one resulting in the Falcons coming up empty on their offensive end. But Albertus hunkered down and got back into control in about the blink of an eye. Sledge really took over at this point and Eian had a few incredible assists to both Sledge and Big Vic. With about 9 minutes to go in the game after we went on that run St. Joes just had nothing left in the tank. They were absolutely gassed and Albertus proved once again why they are without doubt one of the toughest teams in the country to matchup with for a full 40 minutes.

BIGGEST news of the day!!! Their was a new player sitting on the end of the bench for Albertus. He was in street clothes but I have no idea of his name or where he came from but you can definitely tell he is a transfer. What his eligibility is I have no idea? I mean I cant even call him a kid as he looked like he was 30 years old LOL but he had to be all of 6'7 260-270 pounds. Did anyone here of a new transfer? I almost don't even think he would be able to play right now if he was eligible because he is a bit out of shape (although I would never say that to his face  ;D and I hope he doesn't read this LOL) Oliver's recruiting ability never ceases to amaze me. The guy is just a coach from top to bottom.

Falcon2010 aka PJ.....you have done some digging and have been close to Oliver in the past maybe you can get us some info on this new addition?

Also welcome GNACFollower11......with Ferraro13 that's 2 new additions to the GNAC board in the last week and a half alone!!! We are getting closer and closer to NESCAC thread credibility  ;) were not even close LOL but its still progress. Just wish there were fans from more GNAC teams on here other than Albertus and our good friend up in Boston for Emmanuel Saint-Paul who hands down provides the best and most in depth analysis which in my opinion would challenge anyone's team analysis on any of the boards from around the country here!

I think the new guys name is Dashawn Carter.  He played atSt. Louis CC but is from Brooklyn, NY.  NJCAA website has him listed at 6'6.

Yeah I was gonna say, Mitch back at it in the Brooklyn area so it makes perfect sense!
