Found myself on Eian's Instagram and I noticed 2 things...

1. In a comment someone asked him how Sledge and him would play together, but that they'd make it work.

2. On a different pic, someone with a username that has nothing to do with an actual name (inkedupbros_ceo) said he'll be there in Jan and he's in the best shape of his life, to which Eian replied, "Let's go get this Ship!"

Conclusions: Tavon Sledge is on the team and someone of note at least to Eian may join the team in January. Don't think it's Rameau as I've seen him on video and he's not all tatted up like this guy lol

This post I made back in October...I believe it's the same guy based on pictures. Dude looks like an absolute animal. Any word on his eligibility? I'll take him for as long as we get him but hopefully he's not coming in with only semester left, especially with Vic and Lemar graduating.

I really need to step my social media game up!!! Unfortunately however posting to these boards is about as social as I get in terms of technology

I think the new guys name is Dashawn Carter.  He played atSt. Louis CC but is from Brooklyn, NY.  NJCAA website has him listed at 6'6.

Wait, so is this guy playing this Spring?

Hoops,

From what I am hearing now most recently he is elegible to play this second half.....whether Coach Oliver chooses to allow that or keep him for a full 2 years is entirely up to him. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, he looked a bit out of shape to be running and gunning with this team.

You have any other info on him?  Unless he's 35 years old, I can't find anything online about him.

Only thing I found is this article back from 2010 when he was going STLCC...

Found this. This kid is another big man to go along with Vic, imo mitch has got to play him this yr, with a legit shot at making a run in march. Not sure about his shape, but in this pic it seems as if he's always played without being in dwight howard shape. lets hope he's good to go, this is a huge addition if he's ready!

Saw that article too F13...but it's from 2007 lol so I didn't know how relevant it was.

I couldnt find much myself on Carter other than what was already posted by others. Either way based on what little we have read about him it seems like he was a pretty highly recruited prospect coming out of NY and chose to take the JUCO route with hopes of getting more exposure and signing with a good NCAA program. Fortanatley for us he landed at The Nest!! It will be interesting to see if he laces them up this year or if he waits it out! Hes obviously a strong player that could help out otherwise Coach Oliver simply wouldnt have taken him at this point in the season.

Albertus vs. Newbury tonight......I don't see any angle in which Newbury will be able to make this game competitive. The Falcons are simply too strong at every position. Not to mention Albertus is going for an all division nationwide best 50 consecutive wins at home.......I'm taking the Falcons in a route.

Game time is set for 7:00PM

It also looks like Tuesday night's game that was postponed against Mount Ida has been moved to Thursday Feb. 19 for a 7:00 PM tipoff

DaShawn Carter played two minutes tonight - so that question is answered.

50 in a row!!!!

What an achievement by the Falcons!!!

Hoops I saw Carter get into the game and my hunch was right....he is not in shape to run with this team but he is officially eligible to play so we will see what we can get out of him in this second half. I have total trust in Oliver; he wouldn't have let this kid play if he didn't feel he could contribute in some way shape or form.

Also, he got into the game when we had over a 40 point lead so you can take that with a grain of salt as well.

This team is looking better and better each game. Defensively they are starting to put it together which is very scary for opposing coaches and teams.

On to the next one!! Onto 51!!! Dunk Haven!!!!

Saint-Paul

Watched the video replay of the Anna Maria / JWU game and was very impressed with the Amcats win on the road.  Clearly a statement win. First of all,  JWU did not beat themselves, they played a very solid game at both ends of the floor.  JWU did not settle for perimeter jump shots, they attacked the rim, crashed the glass, pushed the ball, and played pressure defense, blocking multiple shots and forcing multiple shot clock violations ( 4 blocks, 11 steals ) .  The Amcats just did not panic.  They ran their offense with patience and discipline, moved the ball, took good shots, and jumped on every loose ball.  The Amcats came back from down 17 with 8 minutes left on some hot shooting to win by 3. They scored 27 points in the last 8 minutes.  They also were very smart on defense, switching up their defensive looks four times to keep JWU off balance.  Sometimes they came out of a TO in a 3 - 2 match up zone, sometimes it was a half court trap, sometimes it was straight man.  The three AM players that were impressive shooting the ball were # 21 Bradanese  24 pts,  #3 Deloray  18 pts,  and #22 Franklin  16 pts.  The Amcats shot 51% for the game with 44% from the 3 point line.  The Amcat player that was impressive but not flashy was # 12  the point guard.  He played 35 of 40 minutes and handled the ball under intense defensive pressure from Greenaway, but did not panic.  He settled his team down and kept his teammates focused on running their plays.  # 12 clearly provided leadership and poise for the Amcats.

For JWU Greenaway was sensational again, with 28 points and 9 rebounds.  Garrick and Lawson also had 17 points each.  Garrick tied the game on a transition layup with 38 seconds left, got fouled, but missed the go ahead free throw.  On the next possession Garrick was called for a loose ball foul while diving on the floor and the Amcat made both free throws.  Overall, a very exciting game to watch,  good basketball,  shoot shooting, good defense.

Saint-Paul

Both teams , Emmanuel and Rivier , came into this game with identical 2 - 7 conference records, so something had to give.  The Emmanuel big man was too much for Rivier to defend in the paint and he finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  The Saints shot a blistering 34 % from the field and 20% behind the arc to beat Rivier by 11 points, 60 - 49.  In spite of 22 turnovers the Saints pick up their fifth win of the season.  The Saints used another new starting line up against Rivier, their 13 th of the season, everybody gets a turn.

Albertus up 30 late in the 2nd here. Anyone know what's up with Mr. Jennings? Didn't start last game (though he played 19 minutes) and today he doesn't play?
