Albertus wins by 36. Perhaps D3 or PJ can confirm but I'm fairly certain Jennings was kicked off the team. For what and if it's indefinitely I'm unsure.

Obviously Sanders has stepped into the starting lineup. What we lose in pure shooting (and Julian is no slouch) we gain in length and the ability to attack the basket. Granted it's Mt Ida but Julian was very aggressive going to the hoop. Between him, Walters (who had 15 rebounds tonight!) and Lex Perez the void can be filled albeit in a little different manner with each guy.

Also, kudos to the Mt. Ida broadcast. The guy calling the game wasn't super innovative or anything, but a solid play-by-play guy. I couldn't focus my sole attention to my computer screen but I was able to turn the volume up and listen to him while doing some stuff around the house. Still was able to get a good feel for the game through him.

Albertus is not the #6 team in the country without Jennings. Point blank. He has the experience and ice cold veins that can't be replaced. Really sad if he's gone from the team. I heard 2 week suspension, I hope I'm right. Where did you hear for good?

Social media investigation haha but all it said was he was kicked off the team, no timetable. Think I'd tend to side with your information because while it takes our athletic department ages to put up an updated roster, they're usually fairly quick to remove someone and James is still on the roster. Can anyone confirm if he's been on the bench still? If it was a 2 weeker aren't we approaching the end of that?

In other GNAC news, JWU waxed Anna Maria by 31. While we all knew JWU was the #2 team behind the Falcons, this further cements it. Anna Maria is always a tough out but it's clear JWU is our most formidable opponent.

Emmanuel picks up the win vs Norwich!

Saint-Paul

Watched the video replay of the JWU / AM  game.  Wow,  JWU looked like they were on a mission to make sure that there would not be any more GNAC upsets.  Eight minutes into the game it was already 29 to 7.  AM did not play poorly, the JWU defense was just extremely tight.  AM could not get any open looks, every jump shot, every lay up,  was contested.  AM could not get any stops at the defensive end of the court.  JWU was just so quick that even when they missed a shot someone else followed it up with an offensive rebound.  Greenaway,  Garrick,  and Lewis all had big games for JWU.  JWU did not score all their points in transition, their half court offense was also working.  They used good outside shooting and quick dribble penetration and sharp passing to beat the AM match up zone.

Should be a great game on Saturday with AMC.  I think that both teams will play man, but you never know.  If you wanted to slow down an athletic, running team, a good match zone would be the way to go, but that is not the style of either of these two teams.  Another thing to watch for is if JWU plans to double team Victor on the low post? Whose man will they double with?  Will they double as soon as he catches, or wait until the first dribble hits the floor?  All good things to watch for.  Will AMC pick up full court forcing an uptempo game, and allowing JWU to get to the rim or will they fall back into a tight half court man to man, switching on the JWU screens to eliminate dribble penetration ?  What will JWU do if AMC doubles Greenaway on the perimeter and forces the ball out of his hands?  I think that AMC will try to make Greenaway a non factor by forcing him to give up the ball as soon as he catches.  Should be a great game, good luck to both teams.

Ferraro13 respectfully I think you're really far off on your assessment of the team without James Jennings. They are without doubt still worthy of their Top 10 ranking and they are still even without him a Top 10 team in my mind. He was very streaky all year from 3 and Julian and freshmen Lex Perez and Chaunce Dunbar are more then capable of stepping in and filling the void from deep. Let's face it, Jennings was strictly a 3 point shooter......way more then half his FG were all 3's. Granted they will miss him defensively....I will give you that because for a guy as small as he was he had a swagger about him on defense. Overall though in my opinion the team is just as good without him as they were with him.

I think all the evidence we need is in the results, since he's been gone they haven't skipped a beat, still averaging over 90 points a game and they have without a doubt been playing better defense the last few weeks. Let's not forget Julian Sanders is an extremely polished player, he is a senior and his physical attributes favor him as a player over Jennings. Julian's size and his uncanny ability to get to the rim with dribble penetration will provide this team with a different look then what they had with Jennings. That's not a knock on Jennings, he's a fine player for sure but it's just the way I see things.

I respectfully agree haha. Best case scenario is he DOES come back, and Perez/Walters/Dunbar build off the experience they gained while James wasn't playing.

In all due respect junkie I disagree with you. Jennings is wayyyyy more then just a 3 point shooter. He's been a starter his fresh yr for a reason. He knows the offense, he can run, he stretches the court, he fits in well with this offense. He is a key factor of this team

D3HoopJunkie

Ferraro13. Indeed Jennings can do all those things. I am not disputing that. I also understand that he was a starter since his freshman season. But everything that you listed above you can say the same for Julian Sanders (with the exception of starting) He isnt a player that because of the loss the team will be worse off. We arent going to look back at the end of this awesome season whenever it may end and say if we had Jennings in that game the outcome might have been different. If it was a guy like Eian or Sledge or Vic then we would have a problem, even Lemar would be a bigger issue but shooters are a dime a dozen on this team. We have plenty and if you look at the stats the 3 point shot was really Jennings only role. His 3PT% is right at 39% and he has an even lower percentage from inside the arc. Coach Oliver can get 40% from Julian everynight as his minutes progress.

D3HoopJunkie

And again I'm not saying that the team is better off without Jennings. No way in hell do I think that!!! Please dont misunderstand me. But I feel his role in this offense is replacable with what this team has on the bench.

I don't know Dave, they didn't add Carter to the roster yet... So who knows... I hope Jennings is still available. I just think he adds depth to the guard position and experience. In March, Albertus will be playing very strong opponents who are experienced and well coached. I think Oliver will have a shorter bench; and I would rather see Jennings in the rotation than Wilson at this point. I like Perez, but he is still very young. I think Julian has played great and is a senior and really wants this. However, I like Jennings guts. He plays much bigger than he is and isn't afraid to take a big shot. I think with Albertus losing Wiggins, they need Jennings.

Hammered home all the points i was just about too. Lets hope I'm wrong and we work out better without him if he is gone. My hope is that he is coming back, a real shame if this is how his career ended

Right, no team is better off without one of it's starters, let alone a 3 year starter. We're certainly not saying its addition by subtraction. We just think it's not AS big a loss as you two do. 2-2, PJ get in here and break this tie ;D

falcons2010

Hey dave, I don't know how to say this but I am PJ. Had to create a new account because I forgot my password and had major issues. My home computer had my pj account saved. But, now it isn't working. So, I am falcons2010 for good. Sucks that I can't give props.
