Maybe the down year (runner up lol) will keep the rumors from swirling around Mitch! Here's to hoping!

And yeah, if that core stays together this team will be quite scary next year especially with JWU losing 60-70% of their production.

Dave!!

I saw the twitter debate/exchange you went on last night with another "D3HoopJunky"........For anyone who didn't see it that was the gentleman's twitter handle which happens to be the same as mine (Different spelling but still.....)

I would like to point out that it was NOT me!! He didnt seem to get the criteria at all and had a very hard time grasping the concept that his team would not be dancing. I am sure you knew this already because you know my allegiance is to the Albertus Magnus Falcons but I wanted to point it out to you to be sure!  :D ;D ;)

LilDave.....Isn't it amazing that this is what we consider a down year now! We have become so spoiled!

HA! Until I read this, the thought it was you never crossed my mind. I am pretty sure knowing his allegiance and lack of understanding the system (along with the team he was arguing for) didn't allow me to think it could have been you. LOL

HAHAHA! Very good Dave!

He must have been greatly disappointed at around 12:45 yesterday afternoon!

I noticed on the list this year that St. Anselm's in NH is in the exploratory year to move from D2 to D3.  Perhaps easier than finding a different conference might be to improve your own - St. A usually has a decent team.  Start recruiting.

Hoops Fan......List?????

Is there a data sheet or website that has all possible conference moves or division changes from year to year? Pardon my ignorance but if there is could you maybe attach a link or give me some direction on where to find it

I just googled it the other day.  "NCAA provisional membership" something like they.  It shows all the schools transitioning and where they are in the process.

Yeah... they announced this last summer... they are not going to the GNAC. They are interested in the NEWMAC and I am pretty sure that will be officially announced in late May or early June.

Someone at Albertus told me that there were no more ECACs. Apparently not since 5 teams are going to it. Anna Maria only gnac team.

So here's the record of all the declared teams:

Anna Maria 14-12 (eligible)
Colby Sawyer 19-7 (eligible)
Elms 14-12 (eligible)
Emerson 11-16 (ineligible)
Endicott 18-10 (ineligible, won the AQ so in NCAA's)
Fitchburg State 18-9 (ineligible, won the AQ so in NCAA's)
Green Mountain 21-4 (not sure.  They were ineligible for the conference/NCAA tourney, so I'm not sure why the ECAC's would be any different)
Lasell 18-9 (eligible)
Mt. Ida 11-15 (ineligible)
Nichols 23-4 (eligible)
Pine Manor 15-10 (eligible)
Southern Maine 15-11 (eligible)
University of New England 14-13 (eligible)

So of the 13 teams we have 4 that are ineligible (in red), 8 that are eligible (in green) and 1 that's a question (orange).  If it turns out Green Mountain is ineligible that leaves 8 eligible teams so it works out perfectly.  And let's say they are.  I'd rank them:
#1 Nichols
#2 Lasell
#3 Southern Maine
#4 Colby Sawyer
#5 Anna Maria
#6 Elms
#7 Pine Manor
#8 Univ of New England

If Green Mountain is eligible slot them in at #3, slide everyone else down, and leave of Univ of New England.

Saint-Paul

GNAC awards all look pretty good with one exception.  Don't see how the coaches could vote the Saints big man onto third team.  If it were not for his control of the paint at both ends of the floor I am not sure the Saints would have won any games at all.  Clearly he was a second team performer and the most valuable player on the Saints team.

Saint-Paul

I am with you on Davis being a second team quality player but considering who made the second team I think the only appropriate switch would be with his fellow teammate John Clay. I think that would be an appropriate switch if they were to do it all over again because like you said Davis was clearly the MVP of this team and without his size and presence inside I am not quite sure if the Saints would have had the win total they did this season

falcons2010

I really like Davis; very productive player. Will he be a senior next year? I think Saints will be in the hunt next year.

Saint-Paul

No,  Davis is listed as a senior this year even though he only played two years for the Saints.  The strange part is that he played in 48 games for the Saints but started only 33.  His career numbers are very close to a double / double, but the coach thought it best for the team to bring him off the bench for one third of his career.  It is coaching decisions like that other programs don't make.  That is why the Saints will remain one of the bottom GNAC teams for  a long time.

Good luck to the Wildcats tonight. Represent the almighty GNAC!  ;D ;D
