Thats great news LilDave,

Honestly I saw him play a couple games this past High School season and I remembered saying to myself that this kid is going to be a pretty darn good college player if given the opportunity. He looks every bit of 6'6 and has a ton of untapped potential that we all know Coach Oliver can bring out. Nice get here for the Falcons. He has the ability to turn into a starter down the road and may even help contribute some significant minutes in his first season on the back line!

Keep the recruiting news coming! Its the only thing that keeps me sane in the off-season! I have my ears open as well and will post right away if there is any breaking news!

Just got word from a good friend of mine who is an ND Fairfield alum that he heard Jesse McIntosh is heading to the Falcons. Another very solid player to add to the program. I believe he is right around 6'2 and is a very good playmaker who can score the ball and get others involved as well. I don't think he is a player who will contribute anything of significance right away but has the potential to turn into a very good D3 basketball player at Albertus under Coach Oliver. I remember reading an article about him 2 years ago when he was injured at ND that talked about how important he was to that team and his positive outlook on the game even though his season that year ended early due to that injury.

Thats 2 as of right now that we know of. Cant wait to see and hear about more! Especially JUCO and transfers! The Falcons should reign supreme again in The GNAC this season!

Just found out as well from the same contact that there is a SG coming in who used to play with McIntosh on the AAU circuit??? Don't have a name yet but working on it.

D3HoopJunkie

Jermichael Younger? Another name that I just heard being thrown around for the Falcons. To be honest the name does not ring a bell to me at all. Going to do a little digging now. Apparently he plays in CT somewhere and this is the kid I made reference too in my previous post that played AAU with McIntosh so I don't think it will be too hard to find info on him.

Saint-Paul

Could not believe my eyes when I read in the NCAA news that Kentucky State hired Jamaal Jackson as their new head coach.  My state of excitement was short lived when I noticed the spelling was not the same as the Saints guy.  I should have known that no school in their right mind would hire my guy.  Oh well, another long season for the Saints.

D3HoopJunkie

Saint - Even in the off season your posts never cease to amaze me! I saw that hire as well and I honestly ran right over to their website to verify! I knew that there was no way in hell it could have been Coach Jackson from the Saints. I don't want to bash him (you seem to have that under control LOL) but I knew there was no way he made the jump to a higher division with the way his teams have performed over the past years.

And for all the Albertus supporters out there, the name of the other guard that I was trying to figure out in my previous posts is Jahmerikah Green-Younger from McMahon HS per New England Recruiting Report. I honestly dont know much about him but we shall see as they say once the season starts if he has any juice or not for the college level. All incoming guards will be behind Ryan Pittman to start the season anyways as I hope and truly believe that he is going to take a huge step forward in his progression in running the team this season from the PG position.

Anyone have any other recruiting news for other GNAC schools?

Albertus isn't done yet as I just heard there is a big time recruit coming to the program. Trying to confirm it now and will update the board accordingly.

Albertus is gonna be absolutely loaded this year. I've been told they have 4 JUCO transfers that include a 1st team All American and a 3rd team All American. I was trying to find there names but it is hard to decipher who they may be because there are 3 divisions at the JUCO level (1,2 and 3) which leaves a lot of speculation as to who they may be.

Hopefully 1 is a guard and 1 big power forward or center! Even though the team was very good last year (and young) I really thought they lacked a defensive enforcer. Granted we were spoiled the last couple of years with Big Vic but I really think that if Oliver recruits athletes who can lock down on defense, this program can go to an entirely new level. Everyone in the country is well aware at this point that no matter what team he has Oliver and the Falcons are going to score a ton of points!

Just got word that we have a D2 guard who has transferred to Albertus for the upcoming season. Name is Devin Coleman, not sure what D2 school he played at but I know he was born and raised in CT. Still waiting to hear who these JUCO transfers are but once I do I will update the board.

Either way it sounds like Ryan Pittman is really going to have to work his tail off and show Coach Oliver that he deserves to remain the starter. I hope he does cause I think it would be good for him take on the role as the 1 and keep it. I like his game a lot but there are clearly some very talented guards coming in who will no doubt be gunning for his spot in the starting lineup. And we all know that Oliver is going to start the best player regardless of history.

Albertus2007

Its looks like Devin Coleman is from Bridgeport and was at Young Harris College.  Website says he's 6"2"/189lbs.  Played in 27 games (14 min/g) and average 4.7pts during his time there.

Albertus2007....Welcome Back! It was getting a little lonely on here LOL. Thought I might have lost a few posters. Hopefully you'll be around this year along with Falcons2010 and maybe a few of the others from years past. It's always good to get another persons perspective on the outcome of the games.

Plus this seasons team is shaping up to be a really strong one! Have you heard anything about the other recruits coming in this year?

lildave678

Looks like before Young Harris he was at Monroe Community College in NY. Started 25 of 27 games, averaged 10.8 points, 3 assists and 3 boards a game.

Little note I found from an article after his senior year: Bassick- Senior averaged 13.5 points ... Helped the Lions win the FCIAC championship for the second straight season and reach the Class L quarterfinals ... Season highs: 27 points, 15 assists, 11 rebounds ... All-FCIAC East team selection.

I am really intrigued by this seasons non conference schedule for Albertus. I think it is without question the strongest non conference schedule we have had in years and will only help us as a team going forward. November 15th is going to be an absolute battle to start the season against Babson.

Anyone have any news on recruits? I cant get names from anyone! Other then the ones we already were able to figure out. Driving me crazy!

One thing I have subscribed to for a number of years after witnessing it first hand and from afar a number of time: when a coach gets the chance to serve on a RAC, they almost immediately change their scheduling habits. Furthermore, they also stop making excuses for their scheduling and suddenly have many more competitive opponents on their out-of-conference schedule. I think this is another perfect example of how serving on a RAC opens the eyes a bit more of a coach.

I have told many coaches that they should consider serving on their RACs even if they did it 10 or more years ago. I think in a major way it improves their team and conference's point of view.
