Today's game between Emmanuel and Rivier features a combined total of 3 wins and 25 losses.  Let's hope these two teams can play for forty minutes without hurting each other!  This game should consist of lots of fouls and turnovers.  Somebody has to win.

Any word on Jones or Ellis? I know Ellis was playing but didn't yesterday, and Jones has been MIA since the break.

Hey Guys, been away from the board for a while but I am back now!

I was at the game on Saturday vs St. Joes. I was told that Grant Ellis missed shoot around which is why Oliver sat him for the entire game and Devin Coleman was late for it which is why he didn't start.

As for Mason Jones, it appears as though he re-injured the same wrist that caused him to miss essentially the entire first half of the season. I am not sure if he will be back or not this year but my guess is no. You could tell he was not 100%. Sure he came out in the first game and impressed us all quite a bit but after that his next 2 games were a struggle and during that span you could clearly tell that he was still feeling the effects of his injury.

As for midseason transfers, I am still holding onto hope that the big guy we have all heard about will be on the roster soon! Its still very possible to get guys. Whether or not Oliver lets them play and get into the rotation is another question because I really feel like this team is beginning to hit their stride a bit as we get into the deep part of conference play.

Content on albertusfalcons.com has been very slow as of late and I noticed that there SID wasn't there on Saturday so I think he may have gotten a job somewhere else or just left the program. Unfortunately the team lost a couple players from the first half, most likely due to grades but the flipside of this is that the players we did lose weren't any of importance in terms of their production on the court. Still sad to see but we must move on. Reason why I say this is because normally they are pretty quick about removing players off the roster who are no longer there but in this case these guys are still on the team website.

BIG GAME tonight against Lasell! Winners takes over sole possession of first place in the GNAC

7:00PM at the Nest. Albertus 91 Lasell 79. Mark it down!

Outstanding game yesterday between Albertus and Lasell.

I watched the majority of it on the computer. It was a back and forth effort by both teams all night and looked like late in the game that Lasell was going to pull off the huge upset. But Grant Ellis was fouled on the 3 point line with less than a second left down by 2. He calmly made all three which resulted in the Falcon victory. I wish I was there as I am sure I am missing a lot of the details that went into this game. But from what I saw, it was a hard fought victory.

Albertus moves into sole possession of first place in the GNAC! This game at Lasell in a couple weeks is going to be very interesting to say the least.

Thanks for the update Junkie..Good win for the falcons last night. They didn't have their best offensive night but played good defense and were aggressive causing Lasell to have foul issues. Even though Lasell lost, I think they are the team to beat in the GNAC. There were a few whistles and non calls that went Albertus's way last night. Not the Ellis play, that was a lefit foul. However, not sure if Falcons get some calls if the game was  in Massachusetts. Lasell has a legit bif man and teo strong guards. They have no one who can defend walters but they play solid perimeter defense. They scare me the most heading into the 2nd half of league play.

Albertus has a solid rotation right now. I think they can get production from a lotnof different areas. I would like to see the guards play defense with more intensity and box out more. I think this team csn earn a number 1 seed and they are still improving.

Let's keep the winning ways.

I am working on finding out the name of the big that was suppose to come in for the second half of the season. I mentioned earlier that I heard rumors of him still coming despite not being here for the first couple games of the second half. We shall see!

Falcons2010......Were you at the game last night?

Saint-Paul

Two polar opposites in last night's game,  Emmanuel at 3 - 13 and Wesleyan at 13 - 3.  The Saints got crushed by the Cards 80 - 50.  Every time the Saints play a team with an above 0.500 record they are never in the game, and usually give up 80 or 90 points.  This game was over early.  With 8 minutes to go in the first half the Cards were already up by 20 points.  The rest of the game was played just to fill out the box score.  Saints played a tight zone but it didn't appear to make any difference, the Cards were able to score inside at will.  The Saints dusted off their full court trapping press for this game ( they have not been using it in a while ), and the Cards immediately responded by getting some easy baskets in transition.  Every time the Cards would score an uncontested layup, the Cards announcer would say " it can't be this easy " .  Well guess what, it was that easy.  Saints shot 22% for the game ( 17 - 75 ).  How does a serious college team shoot 22% ?  You would think they could throw more shots in by accident than that.  Saints will be glad to get back to the friendly GNAC for the rest of their games.

Hats off to Coach Oliver on his 200th career victory this past Saturday against Anna Maria!

What an accomplishment! His tremendous run at Albertus continues on! We are lucky to have him. Hopefully there are hundreds and hundreds more to come!

D3HoopJunkie

I watched the game on the computer on Saturday against Anna Maria and I'm not going to say anything about the game itself!

Only thing I want to point out is that during warm ups I saw a kid that was every bit of 6'9 taking layups and dunking all over the place. He looked like an absolute freak of an athlete. I saw him next to Liam Perryman who is our tallest player also at 6'9 and he was just as tall. I think its safe to say that the big man we have been hearing about has arrived!

Hoping that Albertus updates there roster sometime soon. They usually do that around this time a year. I know there is a new SID at the school now so maybe there just getting used to their new job. Either way lets hope it happens soon! I want a name!

D3HoopJunkie

WOW! Ask and you shall receive!

#2 Aaron Fox from Jamaica Queens NY. A 6'9 Freshman!?!?! Everything I heard was that he was a JUCO player. Perhaps he never actually played? It will be interesting to see him in person on Wednesday night. Wondering how long Oliver will wait to insert him into a game

Saint-Paul

Coach Oliver and Coach Benton both reached the 200 win mark this month.  A sign of longevity and success.  Coach Jackson is also approaching a milestone of his own this month.  In just four more games he will reach the 200 loss mark for his career.  Not exactly the same milestone as the other two coaches but a milestone none the less.

Yeah he didn't play yesterday. Perhaps he holds him out Saturday and unleashes him on JWU next Wednesday lol

Can't find anything on Google in a quick search. Only guy that comes up is De'Aaron Fox from Kentucky!

D3HoopJunkie

Same thing happened to me to Lildave when I tried to look him up!

But I agree with you, I think he plays next week. Getting to be crunch time and although the Falcons struggled shooting it a bit last night, this team seems to be coming together at just the right time. Hopefully they can keep it going into Saturday up at St. Joes. This has always been an extremely tough place for the Falcons (and most GNAC teams for that matter) to travel to and play well at.

Lets Go Falcons!

falcons2010

Hey guys, I am not sure that the fox kid is the JUCO Mitch was going after. Hopefully it is, but my gut says otherwise.

Saints crush Rivier today, 76 - 49. Thank goodness for the bottom of the GNAC.  These two teams combine for 5 total wins this year.  Saints only have four wins this year and two of them come at the expense of Rivier.  Saints commit 22 turnovers, shoot 0 % ( 0 -14 ) from the three point arc, and still win by 27 points.  First time in a long time Saints are not on the receiving end of a 30 point differential. Too bad these two teams can't play each other more often.
