Thanks for that falcons2010

7 GNAC championship appearances for Coach Oliver with 5 GNAC championship titles to his name. All in 10 years!!! With a 6th title possible on Saturday

Really when you stop and think about how far this program has come under his leadership it is truly a remarkable. Regardless of the conference. It has to be one of the better turnarounds in recent memory for D3Hoops. Especially when you look at the numbers pre Oliver era.

Regarding the JWU and Lasell game.......

What a meltdown for the Wildcats. You dont see that too often at the Wildcat Center for JWU. Normally at home they are very tough to beat and when they get a double digit lead it typically leads to a victory. As mentioned already the rebounding and second chance points was the only outlier that the allowed Lasell to get back into the game and eventually win it for them. As Saint mentioned, with a quick glance of the game box score you would never have imagined that Lasell would be the victor in the game.

Great effort by the Lasell. I look forward to this matchup tomorrow.

Will post my prediction and thoughts on the game later today

falcons2010

I like the blue collar work by this team. I think at home it is tough to beat them. Go get number 5 in 6 falcons!

Falcons 25

Albertus Magnus has come together as a team. They have razor sharp focus on defense right now.
They also have a true leader in Walters who will not let this championship escape them.
Both of these teams rebound well, it will come down to which team defends better, especially against
the 3- ball.

falcons2010

I agree falcons. They both play solid defense; Lasell led conference in opposing fg percentage. Ellis could have one of those monster game eapecially if Albertus gets some points in paint with walters and perryman.

What's coleman status? Hasn't played muxh, is it injury or ineffectiveness? At one point, he was the second best player for the falcons.

Falcons 25

Devin Coleman is fine, but Shaq plays better defense. Mitch is riding the hot hand too in that Shaq has
been a consistent scorer of late.
In the last game, it was a battle of defensive "wills" for about 11 minutes & A.M.C. won that battle
& ran off a string of baskets. I predict the same tomorrow, but whose "will" will win?
CAN HARDLY WAIT- SEE YA @ 1PM!

Falcons 25

Wow, What a game! Hats off to a very game LaSell squad!
Too, much Falcon scoring..monster games by SHaq Mitchell &
Grant.  J. Walters..just the MVP of the Tournament & he better
be PLAYER OF THE YEAR in GNAC!
OFF TO THE DANCE! (Monday)

falcons2010

Congrats to Coach Oliver and the falcons! Great back and forth action for the first 25 minutes. BuT Ellis and Shaq scored 8 unanswered points to help Albertus take control.

Lasell played great but their shooting wasn't consistent in second half and Albertus got inside too often.

Let's see where the committee sends them. They probablu will draw the 1 seed in yhe bracket they go to. Any thoughts on where they might go?

Falcons 25

"2010"- you were right on the mark re: Grant Ellis & his "monster" game!
He was feeling it, especially in the first half. (That "ankle breaking" fake on a drive from the left
corner was the best move I`ve seen in years!)

As far as where A.M.C. will end up...how about Greater Albany/Upstate N.Y.?
We`ll find out soon enough!

Saint-Paul

Did not see Rochester play this year and don't know what Albertus chances are in that game , but I did see Wesleyan play against the Saints this year.  Albertus is much more athletic than Wesleyan, especially in the paint, and a step quicker on defense.  I don't think Wesleyan will be able to run on Albertus like they did on the Saints.  If Albertus can get past the first round I think they can go pretty far.

Falcons 25

Hi Saint-  Albertus has to play a  disciplined, defensive game. A team like Rochester will kill you with their passing(18 assists per game)
if you don`t stay focused defensively. They are not a great rebounding team (38 R.P.G.) & their shooting % is similar
to A.M.C. They average 80 P.P.G.
THIS IS A VERY WINNABLE GAME - GO GET THEM FALCONS!  ;

Now granted I haven't seen Albertus play, but I'd be surprised if they are much more athletic than Wesleyan.  Wesleyan has its flaws, but lack of athleticism isn't one of them -- Joseph Kuo is an extremely athletic rim protector and rebounder at center.  Bonner, Green, Sears, and O'Brien are all extremely quick, athletic  perimeter players (and except for Green, who is the fastest of the bunch, they are all big and physical to boot).  Green and Bonner have both missed big chunks of the season but both seem to be healthy now.  Krill is resonably athletic at the 4 and Rafferty is more of a shooter at guard.  But Wesleyan is very, very difficult to score against because of their length and athleticsm, and they can definitely run the floor.  When Wesleyan loses to a team that it should beat, it's usually because it is struggling to make shots.  (See RIC game, 2-23 from 3 and 3-8 from the line, or Trinity game, 6-21 from 3, 13-25 from the line).  But the Cards are I'd say the most athletic overall of the five NESCAC teams in the tourney.

Interesting matchup for AMC.  They seem like the kind of team that will just do what they do and challenge the opponent to stop them, while Rochester seems more a squad that looks to take away the opponents advantage and be more tactical.

Falcons 25

If AMC keeps rebounding @ 50 per game & playing the razor sharp defense of their last 10 games,
this game will be over at halftime.
Momentum is a wonderful thing!
GO FALCONS!
