Any word on today's game since it's scheduled for 3? Maybe it gets moved up? Or is the shore not supposed to get as much?

7express

Trumbulls only supposed to get 2-4, so I'd say New Haven is about the same.

Game still at 3 according to website. Im sure the team left really early this morning because the Womens game is before hand at 1 plus its a pretty lengthy ride up to Norwich. Seems to me like the bus ride home might be the bigger issue for te Falcons.

They probably left last night.  I know when Western travels to Plymouth & USM, they leave the night before since the women play at 1 PM, and since I think Norwich is roughly the same distance, they probably did the same thing.

From my sporting experience, Albertus refuses to do overnights lol. In 5 seasons of soccer we never did it.

Unfortunately Albertus doesn't do overnights. It's a shame really because it would make it that much easier on the players but of course "money" is the issue with a move like that. The school would never go for it. Really a shame.

I know the economy is tough right now, and the best part about Falcon games are that they're free. But I don't understand why Albertus doesn't set up a table at the front entrance and don't even call an admission just call a donation. Say 1 dollar. They  laverhe close to 600 700 people a game and im sure that A good majority of the fans would donate a dollar at most home games. Imagine what they can do with that money for the program after just one season. First thing that comes to mind for me would be a brand-new speaker system because the one they have now is AWFUL!! They would just be able to make so many nice new improvements and really improved the entire atmosphere of the Nest.

Unless you're in the CUNY where all schools are 20 miles from one another OR are centrally located in a conference like Emmanuel in the GNAC or Umass-Boston in the LEC I don't see why you wouldn't overnight since there;s at least 1 outlier in conference and usually multiple (I mean, look at the SUNY, half of that league is an outlier from the other).  Hell, I mean look at the Stevens.  The E8 plays back-to-back so they have to stay nights, but when my sister played soccer there I think EVERY road game save for maybe Hartwick was an overnight trip for them.  Driving 10 hours in 1 day to St. Joes-Maine and Norwich makes absolutely NO sense.

And to edit, this falls on the coach to some regard.  I know someone who played @ Western some 4 or 5 years ago when Dartmouth was one of the better teams in the league, they used to overnight there too (only about a 3 hour trip) and to Keene too (about 2.5 hours).  I know the economy is tough as Junkie said, but if you have a top 50 team like AMC is, in a 1 bid league like the GNAC is, you give your team the best advantage you can.  If it means fundraising at fall events, so they can afford a super 8 in Standish, ME than so-be-it.  They may not have beaten the Monks anyway, but the game is probably a whole helluva lot closer if AMC was able to get fresher legs, by staying the night in New Hampshire or Maine, and didn't play a huge conference game 2.5 hours after stepping foot off a bus they were sitting on for 5 hours.

15 point win certainly isn't all that impressive but doing it on the road while Darius only scores 5 points, I'll take it

GnacBballFan

Lol Dave I hear you, but we are spoiled. 15 point conference win on the road has to have some merit to it. Norwich has taken JWU to the wire

7,  you make valid points... But, you are assuming that they are able to keep any fundraising money. lol. Trust me, not always easy to make sense at Albertus... I'll leave it at that.

Good win for the falcons! Vic was a monster. Walker played solid and made key free throws.

JWU squeaks by - 108-41 vs Mt. Ida.

St. Joe's, Emmanual, and Lasell all win.

D3HoopJunkie

Nice win today by the Falcons! I was able to catch most of the game on the computer. Nothing flashy nothing outstanding but they went in on the road and got the job done. Vic was an absolute beast and Eian had a quiet 19 point 7 assists 0 TO game. And as mentioned, Darius only have 5 points. While Darius's point production has been down the last couple games he has done an excellent job at finding his open teammates (Especially Vic underneath) when he penetrates to the hole. What's absolutely scary about this team is that he can have a game like that and they can still pull off an impressive victory because of the caliber team that Oliver has this year.

To 7, PJ makes and excellent point about Albertus and the fundraising. I know almost for certain that Oliver has pushed to use the "donation" technique to raise money and the University chooses not to go for it. As PJ mentioned things are not always as easy as they should seem at Albertus and we really should leave it at that.

Saint-Paul

Final Score :  Emmanuel  67  /  Rivier  62

The Saints played a tight 2 - 3 zone, did not press , and did not run fast breaks, and escaped with a nice 5 point win.  Rivier is not very athletic, does not have great foot speed , and is not big in the lane, so it made sense to play a collapsing zone against them.  It was a good comeback win since the Saints did not score for the first five minutes of the game.  Not sure why it took 23 games this year to figure out that this is their best game plan and gives their players the best chance to stay close and steal a win in the last few minutes of the game.  It was the Saints first win on their home court all year.

Saints Roster Watch :  with 2 games left in the season the Saints SID finally updated their second semester roster.  The two additioinal players who went missing in December are now accounted for.  The freshman point guard who started games in the first semester is no longer listed on the roster and has left the team.  The other missing player, a junior college transfer,  who played in the first semester is still listed on the roster and is suddenly back in uniform on the bench and presumably able to play the last two games if needed.  The Saints maintainence man should replace the locker room door with one of those department store revolving doors to accomadate all the roster changes that take place in this program during the year.

Entering the last week of the regular season and the game of the year in the GNAC is happening tomorrow night. As Albertus visits JWU in Providence. This should be a great game, the first one went down to the wire and we could see that again tomorrow. JWU has been destroying teams lately, winning by 23, 24, 29, and 68. This team is hitting on all cyclinders. Albertus still has not clinched home court. And will need to understand that they need to impress the regional committee next week (2-26-14).

There are only two seeds that are a lock...

#4 Lasell  and # 7 Rivier... Every other seed has not been determined yet.
