I can't beat GNAC at anything.... Therefore, JWU will lose tomorrow night. It is a sad fact.. Expect for 2 on 2 hoops with Dan Doria.

Lol you said it not me

I was right bro....

How in the world does St. Joe down 5 with 30 seconds left win?  JWU up 2 with 5 seconds left, JWU fouls a St. Joe player with 3 seconds left. Player hits first free throw.. than misses second, but rebound some how ends up in the hands of the pg, who takes a 3 point shot and is fouled with no time left on clock. He hits all three seconds with zero time left.  WOW....

St. Joe's plays Albertus on Saturday.

What a night in the GNAC tourney. Albertus handles Lasell with ease and advances to the final. I cant really say what I truly feel about what I saw out of the Lasell team tonight. I say this because I would never call out an individual player on a college basketball team because I just don't think that is fair to him or the team and family he represents but as a whole I lost track of the technical fouls that Lasell had tonight. It was a terrible showing on there part. I respect Coach Galletta very much. I believe he is one of the finer coaches in not just the GNAC but Northeast and unfortunately tonight he let his team get away from him. I just felt he should have done more to bring his team back together and get them to ignore the home crowd. Tempers get hot and its obviously never easy losing especially when its your season on the line but you simply can not interact with the fans like some of the Lasell players did tonight. What surprised me even more was the fact that Albertus didn't receive one technical foul. As an Albertus supporter that is shocking LOL. They kept their cool and didn't allow the Lasell team to get into their heads. I think we can base that off of pre-game planning and poise but not just the players but Coach Oliver and his staff as well.

Real quick, Darius Watson is the Conference POY. There is officially no doubt in my mind. I thought Vic was challenging a little and what a year he has had but really it can not be anyone else at this point. It HASSSS to be Darius!!!

St. Joes come all the way back in what I believe was the closing seconds and topples JWU to advance to the finals against Albertus Magnus. I don't know how the game ended exactly but it must have been crazy. If anyone has any info on this game and the outcome it would much appreciated.

According to Albertus post game the championship is set for 1PM Saturday. I will have the updated PickEm standing in tomorrow morning.

Fly Falcons Fly!!! Dunk Haven!!!! 40 Straight Home Victories at the Nest. Longest streak in the country for all divisions!!!

Couple things quick, some weird things happened in maine. 23 free throws for st joes 11 for JWU. From what I read on a JWU players Instagram the last foul was after the buzzer. I have a feeling JWU got robbed, go look at the play by play in the second half, very suspect.

On to albertus. Beginning of second half #5 for lasell I heckled a little bit. I'm not far removed from college and get into it time to time. One thing I never do is swear. In a funny/playful manner I told #5 my girlfriend rolls her shorts up too, as he was doing in this game. He then told me too, well I'll keep it pg. A minute later foul on albertus lasell at line. #5 comes all the way to me as  I'm in front row on opposite end, and spits on me. In front of about 50 ppl that were right there. I went onto the court and thankfully held my cool as I just received an offer to become a new haven police officer just today. I am appalled and disgusted with the whole thing.

It's been talked about on these boards for a number of years from the NESCAC, to the LEC and now it looks like here: The refs in Maine are notorious for being blatant homers.  By far easily the worst collection of referees of any state I've seen.  They give ALL the teams in Maine (especially the good ones [Bowdoin, St. Joes, etc]) a generous whistle while screwing over the opposition.  Western lost a game up there @ USM 2 or 3 years ago by 1 when they called DaQuan brooks for a had check 40 feet from the basket with 2.5 seconds left in a 1 point game.  That would've been a terrible call at any other point in the game, an awful call with 2.5 seconds in the first half, and inexcusable to call that with 2.5 seconds left in the game.  And would've been a no call in any other situation, but a team from Maine has a chance to knock off a top 30 team, so of course the Maine referees are going to give them any advantage they can.

As for buzzer beaters: With no TV and therefore no capability to have replays (though if someone at the game is tech savvy enough you MAY be able to go back on the computer and see it), the buzzer beaters really are judgement calls, and once a call stands on the floor, it's pretty difficult to reverse it since as I said you can't go over to the monitor and look at a replay the truck from outside is showing, because there's no truck, and no TV monitors.  Sucks that a game has to end like that, but not much else you can do.  The refs hands are tied.  They can't stand there forever, and they also can't do a dueover, so they're stuck.

I did not see the game. But, when I read the play by play in the JWU/St. Joe game. Something must have happened.

St. Joe's gets a lay-up with 5 seconds left; then must have fouled someone on the inbound, because JWU goes to the line with 5 seconds left. JWU hits both free throws and St. Joe calls a time out. With 3 seconds left JWU commits a foul. (Without video, I don't know where the foul took place). But, I do know that the ball was underneath St. Joe's basket, so it could have been 45 feet away from the basket like what happened to West Conn a few years ago. Then, St. Joe's hits the first free throw. Then misses the second, JWU is very athletic but St. Joe's is very physical. I am still not sure how the ball was able to get to the shortest guy on the court near the 3 point line for a final heeve with 3 seconds left. Clock begins when someon touches the ball. Which means, one of two things probably happened. Either, the ball was tapped back out right to the player or St. Joe grabbed a clean rebound and kick it out.

Just a wild finish. Feel bad for JWU who fought hard but they should have secured the rebound.

Well, if I wanted to win I'd obviously have to pick St. Joes but I don't wanna be responsible for any jinx so gimme the Falcons with a total 151.
