Albertus2007

Hopefully Albertus gets the late game otherwise there is no way I'm making it from Southington to Purchase. Another reason to hate month end close.

pretty sure d3hoops tweeted that the host team always plays last

Also GNAC season awards are out and Darius Watson is named POY. Big Vic gets Defensive POY and Darius, Vic and Eian Davis all make 1st Team All Conference. Rob Sanicola from St. Joes gets COY over Oliver which for me doesnt make sense but I guess Albertus cant get all the honors. Im sure it doesnt bother Oliver at all. He is much more invested in the teams success rather than himself. If I had to guess, I bet he is already studying WPI film.

Funny to see us going pack to Purchase in a potential second round matchup. Playing WPI in the first round as the neutral game of the pod. Purchase is only like an hour away from AMC so that's good. Anyone know whether the game will be Thursday or Friday yet?

It's Friday, and you guys will probably be the early game because the host school usually plays the second game.

The game is at 5:30. Falcons were not sent far away, under 60 miles from New Haven. They also have a few players from New York and New Jersey. Hopefully, there is a good crowd rooting for Albertus. Sucks to play WPI, I really wanted any of the other NEWMAC teams. lol. Great job by the NEWMAC this year!

WPI plays very good team defense, they are banged up, but this team has won a lot of games over the last 4 years. They are well coached and experience. They want to play in the low 60s, Albertus wants to play in the low 80s. Should be a very good game.

ECAC bracket released.

JWU #2 seed and Lasell #5 seed. One of these teams could make a run. Go GNAC!

PJ,

I couldnt help but notice in the NCAA Tourney Fantasy League that you picked Darius Watson with your 2nd pick??? He is clearly a 1st rounder!!! I guess I'm just a little disapponted in you LOL. I only kid of course but your center better be Vic if he isnt taken. WPI doesnt have an answer for him and I am expecting a big game if they advance against Purchase after a rough game the first time these two teams met!!

The way Elms played at AMC I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they beat JWU. But I am rooting for the GNAC teams so they can earn some respect - that is, whatever respect comes with the ECACs haha.

It isn't the NCAAs, but it's post season play and good experience. Not as good of a tournament as the NIT, but good luck Lasers and Wildcats!

Go GNAC

If you have a young team, the ECACs much like the NIT is a great expierence.  It gives you some more practice time, and games against quality regional teams you probably wouldn't ordinarily play.  That's why I don't know why Western didn't declare.  ALL of their talented players are underclassmen, they would've easily made the cut (finished at 17-9) and we'd have games against J&W, Nichols (ranked #10 in New England), Lasell, Elms, etc.  I know it's expensive to host, but on the declaration form, put in a not available to host bid.

I completely agree 7. It's at least one more game and two more practices. It's decent opponents  and a great growing experience.

Btw, good luck into your foray into the NCAA fantasy league.  My first year I finished in 4th or 5th, then the following year I won, so hopefully you take the same path....except skipping the 4th or 5th and straight to winning.

Thanks man.. I watched all of last year, the draft, the free agent teams and the actually games.. It seems that you need guys who can go deep into tournament. But, I am trying to see if I can get guys who will play at least 4. lol. We'll see!

My son played at Eastern Ct from 2010-2013.  His teams were able to play in three ECAC (and one NCAA) tournament.  The team gained a great deal from playing in these post season opportunities including a championship in his final collegiate game.  I believe that their success in the post season in 2012 and , hopefully, this year, was related in some way to being part of a post season team.
