WTNH TV 8 New Haven with a nice mention of the 3 CT teams in this years NCAA D-III National Tournament mentioning ECSU, Mitchel and Albertus Magnus, together with an interview with Coach Oliver and one of the AM guards, ( I didn't catch his name).  Per Oliver, he  firmly believes AM can go all the way to Salem this year!!!It would be cool if WTNH  picked up the tournament games at SUNY Purchase NY, only about 60 miles down I-95!!!

Thanks ECSUAlum. Good luck to Eastern in the big dance.

If anyone can post the link to this interview I would very much appreciate it. I will be out tonight and wont be able to catch the 11 o'clock showing of News8. I suspect it will be on SportzEdge soon but still if someone can post a link that would be great.

Sounds like a great interview!!

Thanks man.. I watched all of last year, the draft, the free agent teams and the actually games.. It seems that you need guys who can go deep into tournament. But, I am trying to see if I can get guys who will play at least 4. lol. We'll see!

Yah, same thing I do.  Last year when I had the #1 pick it was incredibly easy to take Toomey at #1 (since Tillema of Stevens Point was out last year).  But I'll fill out a bracket and I'll fill in my sheet with guys on teams I have at least in the sweet 16 OR games that can be pick ems (I.e. I have Eastern beating Plattsburgh [mainly out as a homer pick, sorry Magic :(] but since I see that game can go either way I still picked out a couple of Plattsburgh players as well).

Also, I'll suggest taking someone off a bye team (either Amherst or Emory.  All the good ones from Amherst are gone, but there's still good ones from Emory left), that way in round 1 when we have 8 and only start 6, it makes the decision a whole lot easier.  At least for me it did.

Thanks.. I noticed no Emory guys taking yet. Either way, I will have a lot of fun with it. It has been fun researching all the players. Lots of good players in D3. Makes me appreciate it even more.

Are you traveling to any games 7?

If I go anywhere, it'll be Purchase but not sure yet.  My parents have been traveling a lot this year and I have a dog that's 12 or 13 years old, so I've had to stay home with the dog a lot.

I gotcha. Hey, Purchase isn't too far. lol. But, I would want to see the team in my conference play as well.

Can't wait to see your write up on the East Conn and RIC match ups in the LEC thread.

Great to see Mitchell in the tournament as well. Hopefully CT can do well in their first games.

Yah.  Too bad Plattsburgh is 5.5 hours away, lol.  I'm not sure I'd even go up there if Western was playing.  That trip down to F&M in Lancaster, PA 2 years ago was rough, and I think Plattsburgh is even further.

It's smooth sailing once you get on 87, though - and a very pretty drive.

Just make sure you stay at the speed limit in the North Country.  State troopers love to give tickets.

It's just long.  Same with the trips to Maine & New Hampshire for Western.  Once you get outside Worcester, MA, it's free and easy traffic wise, only problem is you've already been driving for 2 hours and your still less than halfway there  ::)
Same with 87 & F&M.  Once I get onto 287 in New Jersey, there's no traffic the rest of the way, but I've only been driving for 1 hour, and I've still got 4 and a half hours to go.
Will be the same with Plattsburgh.  Once I get north of Albany it'll be a fine, scenic ride through the Adirondacks, but Albany would only be the halfway point  :o

Pretty cool video I found on Eian Davis, Albertus' juco transfer all star point guard. Ive seen some videos of Eian as a streetballer playing in brooklyn against the likes of the Bulls Taj Gibson among others, but this is the first i found on him that basically tells his path. He's by far my favorite player on this Albertus team. Second in the nation in assists, only player thats in front of him is from Grinell, so that doesn't count in my eyes lol

Sorry guys I'm guilty of not watching the whole clip before posting it. expected some highlights. but still, you can see albertus has gotten a gem. still not sure how this kid landed in a d3 school

pjunito

Thanks for sharing GNAC. Good thing there was no video footage.. Because he is the quickest guard I've seen in years at the D3 level. One nice thing is that racked up a lot of awards and hardware over the last few years. He will be key if the falcons want to make a run in this tournament.
