I did read that somewhere haha but PJ popped up again (in the NEWMAC thread specifically) so it slipped my mind!

Saint-Paul

Final Score  Anna Maria  85  -  Emmanuel  84

For the first time all year the Saints had a chance to beat a good team with an above 0.500 record and they could not get the job done.  Emmanuel only has 8 wins this year and none of those are against any teams with 0.500 records.  The Saints took a 1 point lead with 35 seconds to play when their big man made one of two free throws.  All the Saints had to do was get one more stop and get out of there with a big upset win.  Instead, they gave up a dribble penetration to a back up guard and then allowed him to pull up in the lane for a short jumper that was the game winner.  The Saints had an inbounds play under their own basket with 6 seconds remaining but were unable to execute and could not even get off a good shot attempt.  A very disappointing loss for the Saints who have not had any other opportunities to beat a good team this year.

The Saints big man kept them in the game early and often, with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks.  The Saints gave up 23 points off 21 turnovers because they just don't take care of the basketball.  Emmanuel's wild, chaotic, style of play is very hard to describe in a blog without seeing it in person.  As soon as they get possession of the ball they race down court as fast as possible and make a wild drive at the basket or pull up behind the arc and let a 3 ball fly.  They never show any poise or patience and never practice any basketball discipline.  It is getting harder and harder to watch.  The Saints had 21 turnovers but only 10 assists.

Anna Maria was behind the whole game but never panicked.  They were patient running their offense, looked for open teammates,  and got the ball to their shooters, who knocked down 14 three balls.  Bradanese and Delorey each had 28 points, and that sharp little point guard # 12 had 9 assists.
Since nobody else is writing for the Amcats, I am going to adopt them for the GNAC playoffs.  I like their style of play, especially they way their shooters come up with big shot after big shot to keep them in games.  The are not the biggest, quickest, or most athletic team in the GNAC but they play unselfish basketball, run their sets very well, and give a competitive effort every night out.

Obviously the game is going to get played but any word on a potential game time move up? Saw on the NESCAC board one start time was moved to 2.

Junkie & Dave: the LEC games are still scheduled for 1 PM & 3 PM for tomorrow, and there's games taking place @ RI College (Providence), UMass-Dartmouth (Dartmouth, MA) and Keene State (Keene, NH) where there's supposed to be 6-12 inches of snow starting tomorrow morning.  However looking at the LEC website, I saw the track & field championships, also in Providence have been moved up from 1 PM to 11 AM.  If I see any info for the games in the Providence area (Dartmouth is only like 20 miles east of Providence) I'll let you guys know.

JWU 20-19. Albertus struggling from the perimeter. Totally different team without Jennings, just like I thought. Really is a shame. Top 25 team, not 10 without Jennings

lildave678

Lead by 9 at half time, just a slow start it seems. The feed down for anyone else? Perhaps because it's half time?

lildave678

Also, this particular team isn't without Jennings. It's without Jennings AND Sanders it seems.

Yeah, sort of frustrating.  Looks to be a very good game.  Now tied with three minutes to go.

YOOOO What happened???

Stupid feed being down. According to the play-by-play the Falcons were down 2, Larsen got fouled and drilled both free throws. JWU inbounded the ball and Sledge stole it from Greenway and got the layup as time expired??

Why did Julian not play??

falcons2010

Hey Dave,

Julian got hurt, will miss about a week. Not sure what happened, but it was mention in the broadcast prior to me losing video feed. By the way, how does the GNAC allow that to happen? Someone from IT should have been working on this issue.

Lost my feed as well guys!!! It sucked!!!! But the Falcons won by 2. LilDave thats what my play by play said as well so he musta came up from behind Greenaway, got the steal and layed it up as time expired. Unbelievable! He's the kind of player that you could ride in a big tournament all the way to the finish line!

Julian did NOT play, while my feed was working in the beginning I saw him underneath the basket during lay up lines with a boot on his foot. Then it hit me last game he came out early from an injury that was to his ankle. My guess is there keeping him in the boot for precautionary reasons and giving him as much time as they can before the playoff run!
