Look at that student section! Right on the court, making life miserable for Emerson!

D-Mac,

Will D3Hoops be sending out a broadcast team like last year and the year before? I forget who the play by play guy was last year but he was joined by the Head Coach of Suffolk. Will take Frank Rossi if you got him! That guy is outstanding! His call at Willy P was unbelievable and he was also at Purchase last season in the opening weekend POD if I recall as well.

I love my Falcons but the SID and Athletic Department have got to do something about the video feed for the games. I don't need a play by play guy; I know that's a lot more involved. All you have to do is provide a quality video stream with a student or volunteer who is competent enough to rotate the thing from end to end and place the view on the score board at timeouts and other long whistles. THAT'S IT!!!!  This team is on the national scene now.......get your S**T together and buy a new camera (they are not that expensive anymore) and do something for these players, coaches and fans!! I think they have earned it!!

I believe Frank is planning to be there as I have been asked to setup the video link to broadcast. Details to come.

As for their feed, I know a guy who consults with schools on this kind of thing - me! Happy to provide my services... though certainly not for free. :) However, I currently work with three schools and the list is growing :)

Yeah the current set-up is like, one of those mini Sony cameras they give to Video Production I students to sign out for projects. No commentary, which isn't a huge deal but at least find a student/voulnteer/monkey who keeps up with the play. They don't adjust to where the ball is in relationship to the court either. For example if the balls on the far sideline, pan up a bit so you're not cutting their heads off. It's just left and right and sometimes they don't even go far enough where you can see the nearside corner. A couple games you couldn't even see the hoop!

From the Albertus website:
For those who cannot make the contest, D3hoops.com will provide a live webcast of the game as veteran college basketball broadcaster Ted Sarandis will be on play-by-play and Suffolk University head coach Adam Nelson will serve as an analyst.
Same pair that did the game last year.

This is essentially the First round of the NCAA tournament as the winner will play next week and the loser won't.

Ferraro13

Possibly. Albertus may still get in

Not sure if the Eastern loss helps or hurts us in terms of the RR.

Considering their SOS... don't bet on it. They only saving grace may be it is only their second loss... but Staten Island stayed at the table for 19 rounds last year with three losses and a similar SOS. Plus the fact, it just got harder to get to the table in the NE as Eastern Connecticut will be ahead of AMC along with a couple of others.

More then likely hurts since Eastern will still be ahead of them.

I don't think they get in Ferraro....But, as you know I have been wrong before.

Ferraro13

They prob won't and it'll be a shame if not. Just makes zero sense to me. They should be a shoe in. Yea I get all these SOS numbers and what not, but Albertus is a top team this region and nation. Anyone who has seen them plays knows this

Listen... we all understand that... but this isn't about the eye test. Good teams get left out of the D1 tournament all of the time (and I am not talking about from the power conferences) and even in professional ranks (i.e. Carolina winning the NFC South). The criteria is the criteria and that is all that really batters.

AMC needs to do more than always risk their season on the WL% and winning the AQ. We have heard it time and time again... no one will play them. They need to do something to change that. Whether it is look to other conferences and teams to play, find the money to travel to things like the Hoopsville Classic and D3hoops.com Classic, or figure out what it is about them that causes teams/coaches not to schedule them. Who knows what the answer is... but clearly in the last few years AMC hasn't figure that aspect out quite enough (this year bad luck with Purchase - but that is one game, there needs to be more).

Now, Mitch Oliver is on the Northeast RAC this year. That gives him about four years if he stays on it to understand and maybe work with other coaches to improve things. I have heard they have a couple of good opponents next year, but who knows if those come through. What I am trying to get at... almost every coach I have seen serve on a RAC has almost immediately changed how they schedule - even those who don't have great teams. Hopefully, by getting an inside look at how this all works, Oliver will have a better understanding of what he and his team needs to do... because clearly the conference isn't going to improve enough to help AMC... it has to be on AMC to improve their out-of-conference.

#6 ranked teams don't get left out, or have a chance to be left out in other divisions, if we are gonna compare. It's stupid. Staten Island shoulda got in last yr. they won their ecac tourney I'm pretty sure last year. it is what it is

Well Stevenson won their ECAC tourney... but since the best of the rest don't always compete in those and it isn't like the NIT (the ECAC is two games over a weekend and there isn't a signla champ)... that isn't a good comparison.

I agree, the #7 shouldn't be left out on the ground they are that highly ranked in a Top 25 poll - but you will be searching for a very long time before you find where the Top 25 has anything to do with NCAA criteria in any division (though, I always suspect there is a D2 sport I am forgetting)... but they have to help themselves... they aren't doing that.

By the way... there is a chance they get in as an at-large despite the SOS. There is always a chance and it shouldn't be ignored. It is just a tough chance.

By the way... #14 Capital was left out of the NCAA tournament in 2002, though they had a few more losses. Pat reminds me Capital ended up #8 in the final poll!
