Falcons25.....more good news!!

Do you have a name on the "big" that was brought in this season. I heard we got a 6'9 transfer that was recruited out of high school to play D1 and then went the JUCO route?? Apparently he is on the team. I just haven't been able to get a name yet.

Falcon fans:  The men`s & women`s basketball schedules are up on the Albertus Magnus College website!
Now for the ROSTER! (Dream on!)
W.P.I. @ HOME on 11/25/17! See ya Then!

You'll be lucky if you get the roster up by the afternoon of the day of the first game.  Western is notoriously slow on the roster updates, but that could be understood with football.  I remember 1 year the first look I got at the Western roster was the program for that days game.

Put the program manager on your contact list. ::)

Just an FYI - I wanted to look into AMC for the preseason Top 25. I know they were asked for voter information, but did not respond. So, not having any information on their website further hampered my efforts. That said, I saw what they lost and decided I would patiently wait to see what they produced this season.

Finally got the name of our new PF/C. Amir Maddred, a 6'8 load from NJ. Was told he weighs 240+ and is a very skilled back to the basket low block player. Between him, Liam Perryman (6'9) Aaron Fox (6'9) JQ Walters (6'6) and Damian Grant (6'6) this is easily the biggest and probably most skilled fromt court that Oliver has ever had in his time at Albertus. We all know he always has outstanding guard play and backcourt scoring. Pair that with this front line and this could be an exciting year for the Falcons. Looking forward to next Saturday! Anyone know if Swarthmore provides a webcast of their games? And if so do they provide play by play commentary as well?

Wow.  That's some serious D3 size for Albertus Magnus.  Sounds like they'd match up with Williams.  Check out their roster; they're huge.
Looking forward to seeing AB in Vermont this season.  Should be a great match up.

Falcons 25

Junkie, I just heard Albertus Magnus played Coast Guard @ home Saturday morning. (11/4/17)
No Idea if they kept score or how anyone did.

Falcons 25

In addition to Amir Maddred, I believe A.M.C. also landed his brother Jamil (6' 5", 190 lb. swingman) who last played at Marshalltown Community
College in Iowa. (averaged- 7 pts per game) Both were from Camden, N.J.

The Centennial (and a bunch of other conferences) now have a Roku channel - you can watch the game on your TV.

Roku, Amazon Fire, dealer's choice for almost any conference that has a conference-wide deal with Stretch. Also others who have deals with other streaming partners. I found what I think was nearly half the DIII divisions on Amazon Fire plus some individuals.

That's great Dave! More good news.

Food for thought......do you think because of the way things are so easily streamed now that this technology could perhaps attract more fans to D3Sports?

What a platform to promote. I dont think the numbers will explode but if it was promoted in anyway, then maybe more casual fans will take notice of this level and gain more credibility on the national scale??

I'd love to hear your thought on this Dave or Ryan??

I absolutely feel things like this can attract a bigger audience and appreciation for Division III athletics. It is the reason I have been a proponent, and even consultant, for schools to start or upgrade their web streaming capabilities (on campus, not necessarily streaming partner). Too many schools have taken this as a "bonus" item or something that is gravy to the bigger picture when in reality web streaming and such is the thing that can help all kinds of things including recruiting, recognition, even highlights on local TV possibly (without sending out a camera). It is also the reason I am against PPV of ANY kind and the efforts to hide games after they have been played (meaning, you can only watch them live). They only hurt the school, the conference, the region, the sport, and the division. Making them PPV is the first turn-off for many and the idea of charging parents and others money to view their loved ones is ridiculous to me. To also then hide the games and force people only to see them live is petty and short-sighted (usually by coaches) that also only hurts all the ones I mentioned earlier.

This is all good for the larger division. As an entity, D3sports.com, it takes away one of the things we did very well and brought to the public... but that is how things evolve. We may have been the first to audio-stream and then video-stream games no one could hear or see, but now that everyone is doing it to some degree, we will find other ways to contribute.

Hey Falcons fans: It looks like the AMC roster IS up, you just have to change the date in the link to 2017-18 instead of 2016-17.

Here it is: http://athletics.albertus.edu/sports/mbkb/2017-18/roster
