Falcons 25

Mercy, A.M.C. got Tyreek "Freak" Perkins AND Jarron Chapman! Both CT All State players & immediate impact players.
Chapman can "throw down" like Tavon Sledge(similar game) Perkins was the best guard in the state while at Career, inside & out!
This season can not start soon enough.

Still lurking guys! Being so far out from actually attending and not living that close I've lost my own connects but definitely still follow along and your guys info certainly makes it easier!

Just wondering how you know about Jarron Chapman Falcon? Is he a late addition? He's not on the roster linked by 7. I'm an NVL guy so the name immediately jumped out at me.

Good to hear from you LilDave

I was wondering that myself on Chapman??? Perhaps the roster isn't complete yet and Falcons25 has more inside information. Maybe he was a late addition? We all know Oliver is known for pulling guys out of the nowhere and getting them started right away. I actually find that to be one of his best coaching traits. He really knows how to get guys recruited, enrolled, and in the program. I suspect his experience at the D1 level as a top assistant probably gave him exceptional knowledge in dealing with these situations. I was told by many that while the head coaches go out and recruit there players, a lot of the paperwork and following through trickles down to the assistants. Makes total sense, I think we can all agree that guys like Jim Calhoun, Jim Boehiem, Coach K and others arent the ones going to the registrars or finacial aids offices at these programs and making sure Johnny has his paperwork in on time! That job belongs to the assistants. Pardon my french but whats the expression again??? "**** rolls downhill"??? LOL

Can't wait till next Saturday! Once the roster is officially posted I plan on posting my thoughts on the AM season and the GNAC as a whole!!

Falcons 25

Jarron Chapman was on the roster yesterday(11/6/17) & not on it today(11/7/17)?
He starred @ Monroe Junior College Mustangs last year. Here yesterday; GONE TODAY!!
I`ll  "stand down" until the S.I.D. puts the "official" roster up Friday!

Haven't been able to read all the posts, by very excited for this upcoming Falcons season. Spoke to someone VERY close to the team a month ago, and was told that Oliver has a mid year guy coming in by the name of Ajen English. Brother of AJ English formally of Iona. Said he'll be here mid year, watch out if he is

Ferraro13

Just went back and saw that Ajen English was already mentioned. I was told he will be here mid year, and will EASILY be the best player, talent wise, to ever suit up for albertus

Hey Ferraro13, Falcons25 did mention A'Jen earlier in the post. I was told that he was recruited by a number of Division I schools out of high school but had some troubles off the court  that required him to take some time off. Either way I have also heard that he is hands-down the most talented recruit that Oliver has been able to secure. Which is really saying something considering some of the talent that he has had over his years with Albertus. All Americans Ray Askew and Big Vic come to mind as well as Darius Watson, Eian Davis Tavon Sledge, Waden St Juste and a few others. If this kids talent is in fact superior to all the above, then it really coiuld be a special year for the Falcons with the host of talent they already have returning.

Yes I saw he was mentioned, sorry about that. But he'll be a mid year guy from my understanding. He was recruited by Virginia, V tech, Marquette, Xavier, James Madison, etc. off the court problems have kept him from any of those programs. Here's to hoping he's on campus come January

English is from the town in which I live.  I asked around a bit after his name came up (he graduated before we moved here).  Off court issues is putting it nicely.  I sincerely hope he's figured those things out and matured.  I want everyone to have the best chance at success and I'm glad for d3 teams who facilitate that.  AMC has had its share of difficult pasts come through and behavior hasn't always been what anyone would want - however, I don't recall any off-court issues with anyone while at Albertus, so I've got great faith the program will handle theses situations responsibly.

Coach Oliver runs a no-nonsense program. Regardless if your the best or worst, he always treats everyone the same in terms of discipline. I have seem him bench his best players in times when they were really needed. He embraces the next man up philosophy. He is a coach who isnt affraid to give someone a second chance and for that, his players have always respected and loved playing for him. He runs a tight ship and whatever happened with A'Jen I am sure was addressed and Oliver has a plan for his success moving forward in the classroom and on the basketball court.

Look at his track record with All-Americans, All Northeast or GNAC honors......he has taken in and helped numerous kids who come from very difficult backgrounds and turned them into a success when other wouldn't "risk" the chance.

Here is to hoping A'Jen can join that group!

So what year will English be, junior, senior? Are Perkins and Chapman freshmen?

Ahhh I sense Greek Tragedy is doing some D3 Fantasy prep perhaps?? 😃

I was informed that A'Jen is going to have 3 years of eligibility making him a sophomore. He played only one season of JUCO ball where he averaged over 20 PPG.

Perkins will be a freshman and if Chapman is in fact on the team I think he will be a junior.

JQ Walters and our new big Amir Maddredd are must drafts if I were you Greek! Sounds crazy but in Olivers system I think both just might have a legitimate shot at averaging a double double.

Saint-Paul

Saints posted their new roster.  Same old stuff.  Twelve new players this year, eight freshman and four transfers.  Six non seniors from last year left the team.  No telling how long these guys will hang around.  How does a college program succeed with this kind of player retention ?  No continuity from year to year.  Well, actually there is no continuity during the season either, with 21 different starting lineups in 25 games.  GNAC coaches will need to tear up the old scouting reports and start all over again.  Let the games begin.

Well, I took the bait hook, line and sinker. I added English and Perkins to my keeper league team, which means I get English for the next 2 1/2 years (comes in December) and Perkins for all 4 years. No idea who Maddredd is. Walters was already taken in the draft league.
