Falcons 25

Keene State dropped out of the Top 25. That said, their two guards (Wright & Harris?) are as good as
D3 New England gets! If Pittman & Jones match them, our "bigs" have an opportunity to win this game.
Amir & Liam(our "bigs") need to play like they did against Babson- rebounds, defense & 15 pts. between them
J.Walters will DO HIS THING & if so WE WIN!
Maybe then, Albertus will get noticed by the "stuffed shirts"!

When was Keene state in the Top 25 this year?

I'm guessing he looked at your ending poll for last season which had Keene State in the Top 25.

They were there for sure... maybe he thinks receiving votes counts for being in the poll as well. :)

My Bad, Dave!!!  Guess it was a New England Poll. Whatever.

Now for the REAL STUFF!   (OWLS OVER FALCONS BY 11 Pts.)
J. Walters did his part with a MONSTER GAME.
Mason Jones, Amir Maddred & Liam Perrymen were a COLLECTIVE NO SHOW!!
Time to Play DAMIEN, MITCH!
NEXT GAME: THURSDAY @ NEW LONDON vs MITCHELL COLLEGE.
Falcons better show up ready to play or the Mariners will run them out of the Gym!

I wouldn't be too upset (upset, sure, because AMC did not look like they should) - Keene is a very good team.  Lots of changing roles this year and some young contributors - they stumbled a bit early - but they're very good.  Nothing to be ashamed of tonight.

Good luck to the Falcons moving forward!  It was fun seeing them play for the first time given that I hadn't seen them before other than video or box scores.  Have a good season!  Even though I support Keene, I'll be following!

Saint-Paul

Saints lose at home to MIT 80 - 56.  MIT has a really good team, I was surprised that the score was this close.  It helped that for once the Saints did not try full court press this team.  MIT has some really good three point shooters to go along with pin point passing that carved up the Saints zone defense all night long.  MIT was either shooting lay ups or wide open three's. The MIT defense was also impressive, possibly the best man to man defense that I have seen so far this year.  They held the Saints to 17 points in the first half and under 30 at the ten minute mark of the second half.  Their on ball defense was intense without fouling, they closed out shooters correctly, on balance with hands high, and their baseline rotations were almost perfect.  What really caught my eye was the MIT point guard, standing 6'6" tall but smooth as can be handling the ball or passing for lay ups. It will be interesting to see how the Saints bounce back from drubbing like this on Thursday against Wentworth.

Disappointing performance by the Falcons last night up at Keene State. They simply couldn't get themselves into any offensive rhythm and their effort just wasn't their consistently enough to come out and beat a team like Keene State.

This is one of those games that I think we have to bury and just move on from. As Ryan mentioned, Keene is a very good team and I wouldn't consider this a bad loss. I thought it was just unfortunate that they played so lackluster in a moment where they could have sent a message. I know this team will get better as we carry on throughout the season.

I look for a big bounce back performance on Thursday in New London against Mitchell College who has struggled this year to be consistent.

Was it something where they said we're going to let JQ get his and make life difficult for everyone else, or was everyone else just that bad? lol

D3HoopJunkie

LOL Lildave

JQ Walters was that damn good and everyone else was that horribly bad! It wasn't like a one man show were JQ was just taking everything. For the other it was simply not making shots and turning the ball over way to much.

I think it may have been the worst game I have seen Ryan Pittman play ever. He just had no energy like what we are used to seeing from him. That being said I completley give him a pass because of the type of player and kid he is. We have all mentioned it on here, he is an absolute warrior for us and I love the kid. Not to mention what he went through this past week with the passing of a close family member. I think we can all agree to give him a pass on this one. And I fully expect him to come out Thursday and play like we are all so used to seeing him play because that how he is. He knows he is better then what he showed last night!

From the Keene perspective, Walters showed himself to be a big time player last night.  The Keene coaches commented that he looked like the best player in the region and he was virtually unstoppable on the offensive end.  What I found impressive was that he did not force much.  Due to the fact that his teammates were having an off night for whatever reasons, he took over the game in the second half.  A total of six baskets for the rest of the AMC players pretty much tells the story.  If any one or two of those other guys had had what I expect were their normal games the result might have been different.

falcons2010

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Pittman family for their loss.

December lost at Keene, a solid regional opponent isn't terrible. Many coaches, hopefully Mitch included, will use games like these to prepare for the conference games. I didn't see the game but looking at the box score, Albertus only hit 3 three pointers and attempted like 20. Just an off shooting night. Both teams committed a lot of turnovers and Albertus went to the line almost 30 times. The team has to find its way here over next 10 games. Especially if they will be incorporating 3 new faces. GNAC is still a one bid league; hopefully the team can be more consistent with the 3 ball going forward.

Good luck to Keene the rest of the way.

Typical smug comment from Dave McHugh lol anyways, Keene State is a very good team and albertus has nothing to hang their heads on. Off night combine with a tough team makes for a loss
