Falcons 25

I am thrilled that the Falcons got beat by J & W!   They needed a "good slap in the face" before the GNAC tourney!
The Amcats of Anna Maria should not be taken lightly! They are a hot team that can rebound w/Albertus & shoot 3`s!
The loss to the Wildcats is an absolute blessing-in-disguise! NOW, the Falcons will play their smothering defense &
win this game against the Amcats by 8-12 pts.!
Second round: I see the Falcons playing vs REGIS!! (and winning!)
Championship: J&W vs OUR FALCONS
This time, they`re  playing in OUR NEST & AMC will win. (again!)

Saint, I think the 3/6 and 4/5 match-ups are toss up. I can see both St. Joe and Lasell losing. I think albertus and JWU will have easy first round wins. Second round can cause issues depending on match up.

Saint-Paul

yes, your are right, during the regular season, the 3 through 6 teams took turns beating each other. You could easily call those games a toss up.  I think that the home court for the first round will be a big factor.  Regis is much longer and more athletic than Lasell, but i just don't like the way Regis shoots the ball.  I do like the way Lasell works for a good shot, and also their decision making in the open court.  Lasell only runs when it is opportunistic.  I like St Joe because of the offensive sets that they run, scoring both inside and outside.  They don't appear to force anything, they take what the defense gives them.  The only negative about St Joe is that their point guard cannot score.  His defender is often free to help double team other players.  We will know in 24 hours.  Good luck to the top seeds.

The GNAC title defense starts tonight for the Falcons!!!

In New Haven, we dont play for regular season championships

In New Haven, we dont play for conference tournament appearances.

In New Haven we play for GNAC Tourney Championships!!! Anything less is a major disapointment and all these players are well aware of that. They new what they signed up for when they commited to Coach Oliver and the Albertus Magnus basketball program. Now it is time to once again get the job done!

Anna Maria is a hot team coming in to the tourney and must not be taken lightly. I look for Albertus to come out of the gate hot tonight and not let up till the final horn blows!!!

Lets go Falcons!!!! Make us proud!!

Falcons cruise to an easy victory tonight in the 1st round of the GNAC tourney over Anna Maria. This one was an absolute laugher from start to finish. The Falcons looked like a team ready to go on a postseason run!

Intersting opening night for other teams outside of New Haven as Suffolk pulls off the road upset over St Joes and JWU narrowly squeaks by Norwich. In the final game, Lasell handled Regis rather easily which will setup for Thursday's semi-finals; Lasell at Albertus and Suffolk at JWU.

Going just off the boxscore of last nights Lasell/Regis game it appears Lasell used a balance attack to take care of business. Balanced scoring across the board and what appeared to be a good 1st half defensive effort that allowed them to jump out to such an impressive lead.

Should be a good contest tomorrow night between these two teams who over the years have grown accustomed to seeing each other in the GNAC semi-final or championship round. I know Coach Oliver has a ton of respect for Coach Galletta and this Lasell team. They always come ready to play.

With all that being said, if the Falcons commit on the defensive end like they did last night we should have
no trouble getting past Lasell. They were all over Anna Maria last night. Forced a ton of tunrovers and really contested shots. This Lasell team also doesnt have an answer for JQ or Amir on the low block. They have some good guards but just can't matchup athleticly with this Abertus squad. I think the 1st half will be close and then JQ and Albertus and company will assert their will and tale over half way through the 2nd.

Final Score Prediction

Albertus 86
Lasell 72

Tip of the cap to AllStar as well. The tournament graphics you provide are great!

Nice all around game by Albertus yeaterday. They played well in every aspect; defense, offensive sets, and transition offense. If they play like that, they are tough to beat. Lasell causes a threat, they can shoot the ball and have two really good players. However, if Albertus bring the defensive energy they had last night and shoot the ball well. They should win going away. By 8-11 points.

Not just because I am an Albertus supporter but I am picking the upset tonight in the other semi-final.

Suffolk 78
JWU 74

I just have one of those feelings. I think Duffy and Hagopian are really underated players in this league and I think the Rams will come together to pull off another upset. Plus, JWU really didnt look that impressive Tuesday night against Norwich.

I couldn't disagree more. JWU will beat Suffolk by 16. Suffolk has no inside presence to deal with JWU on the glass and getting to the rim. As for Tuesday night's game, you might be letting your Falcon loyalty get the best of you because JWU played great haha. JWU shot 40% from the field and 42% from deep while grabbing 13 offensive rebounds and turning over the Cadets (who are top in the conference in fewest TO, and were in the top 5 for the country most of the season) 17 times. I think Norwich played a great game and so did JWU. Norwich was an interesting team all year. Real case of Jekyll and Hyde for them. When they played to their ability they beat St Joe's, crushed Lasell, beat Regis, and took Albertus to the wire twice. This board is always funny to read because it's nothing but blind loyalty haha. JWU will be playing Albertus in the "Nest" on Saturday and very well could pull the upset.

Blind Loyalty? We are supporters of our team for sure but to say blind loyalty is a bit ridiculous MrKnowsMostOfIt. We support the Falcons because we have dominated this league for 10 years and other then Saint-Paul Albertus fans have dominated this board too. Many of us have always given respect to opposing teams and coaches, we analyze and critque just like any other boards and we cheer for our squad just as hard if not harder than anyone else. Thats not blind loyalty. Thats called being a fan.

I agree with you on Norwich and the Jekyl and Hyde statement but JWU is a much better team then how they performed Tuesday night.

JWU is an entirley different animal but im sure you must have seen Suffolk upsetting the Monks of St Joes this past Tuesday night too then right?

I'm simply making a pick and observation that I THINK the Rams will pull off the upset tonight. We'll wait and see what happends.

Mr.Know Most Of It

Yes, and St Joe's is not JWU. JWU beat Suffolk by damn near 40 this year. Please Explain to me how JWU didn't play their best basketball on Tuesday? Did you even watch the game?
