Could be. Was Shirley E on the DIII board of directors at the time--or whatever it is? Not that I'm implying anything. Any bias you get out of the statement is strictly inference--your fault, not mine.

I could run for office. I think I have the teflon thing down.

Wish E Eldred a happy birthday today.

Great womens game to day some of the best refing I have seen in the WIAC all year

And I'm enjoying this tropical weather too!  ;)  Seriously though, did ANYONE find it a little odd that Chuck Mourning was reffing this game all while Keith Knoll was the PA guy?

That's exactly what I was talking about several posts ago. I was just more discreet.  ;)
I did look at the play by play each half though and the fouls were pretty even, but I'm sure given the situation the refs had to make sure that they had better call it on both ends.

A lot of it depends on who the teams are in the next level, since travel considerations outweigh seeding.  On first glance, it looks like Stout would end up on the road for sectionals because all three opponents will most likely be on the east coast.  If seedings hold, Messiah looks likely since Stout would be the only team that would have to fly to them.  If Stout hosts, all three of the other teams would fly.  If William Patterson comes out of the Randolph-Macon pod, then they or NYU would also be possible (3 teams drive and Stout flys) hosts.

Point men were home all the way to the final four.

The way Northern Explorer explains it it doesn't sound good, still gonna have my fingers crossed ;D

I already gave her my present.  I had her in the Stout lineup two games ago.  Happy birthday, E.

And I believe it was another perfect game: no fouls, no turnovers.

Let's get some cosmic pressure going to get the Stout women past the Sweet 16

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the girls would host the sectionals if they get that far.

If all the favorites advance, I would think Stout would have the least chance at hosting the sectionals.  I believe the order would be NYU, Messiah, Randolph-Macon and then Stout.  Stout might be ahead of R-M.

If cosmic pressure is what it takes, I'll be giving it my all...

Happy Birthday E!!

...I just realized I'm not sure how to generate cosmic pressure...

Does beer help?

Beer creates all kinds of pressure, not the least of which is cosmic; even if it didn't, it would be worth trying.

For those who are curious about how an RPI would shake out for the teams, check out the home page link here, as calculated by the crack staff at D3 Hoops...

UW-Stout at 14
Whitewater at 17
UWEC at 32
Point at 57...

What I really hope for is a good, clean game and GOOD officiating (something that is hard to come by these days, especially during the playoffs). Doesn't seem right that the WIAC would have one of the refs who is local. Just hope he does his job.

Chuck, if anything, overcompensates in trying to be impartial.  That is probably the reason that the WIAC ignored the requests from UWEC officials to replace Chuck.

Anyone who has been witness to any of the games that Chuck has officiated for Stout knows that he leaves his friendships and allegiances at the door when it comes to his job as an official.

And the fouls were called evenly in the game, so apparently the fears and worries expressed by a number of posters here weren't necessary.  But then, those of us that didn't have any fears or worries knew there wouldn't be any need for fans or college officials to be worried.

And sorry for being so late with the reply to this, but upon returning home to Southern MN from the game on Sunday, I was met with a cold home devoid of electricity.  It's now Tuesday morning, and still no electricity... :o  On top of that, I've been sick the whole time...

Hopefully we'll have power restored today or tomorrow and I can return home.  Maybe tomorrow I might even be able to return to work - I ate my first meal since Sunday morning today!

Already addressed your first point.

As to the second point - this is not the first time Keith NOLL has announced for Stout.  As a matter of fact, he did the previous 3 games also.  The regular announcer was involved in the UW Stout Hockey Teams Tournament appearrances over the last couple of weeks.

So much for the great conspiracy theory... ::)

Par for the course.

I'm not saying that the reffing cost EC the game.  Stout definitely played better and EC had no answer for their studs OR rotation yesterday.  However, when I saw Chuck walk onto the court I actually laughed out loud!

So you admit the refs didn't cost EC the game, that Stout played better, and that EC had no answer for the Blue Devils "studs" or their rotation, but you still persist in defaming a WIAC official.

Class move... ::)

Carry on.
