Congratulations to your Lady Warhawks, BW!!!

Thanks, we earned it.

No time to rest however.  Platteville played us tough here last year and with Stout, Point and Oshkosh on the road we've got our work cut out for us.

UWP SID

Because of the snow, the UW-Platteville and UW-La Crosse game has been postponed until Thursday at 7 p.m.

EC blows out UWO.  What a game by Rachel M.  I think she had 7 3s in the game.  She was on fire.  If EC plays the way they did in the 2nd half, they can beat anyone.  A nice performance for the Golds this evening.

A barn burner at Johnson Fieldhouse last night between the UW Stout Runnin' Lady Blue Devils  and the Pointers of UWSP...

37 - 33  Stout at the half, 72 - 72 at the end of regulation.

For the first minute of the OT, the teams traded foul shots and baskets, but then Stout went on a 17 - 3 run to seal the deal 92 to 79.

Julia Hirssig set a personal career high scoring mark for the third game in a row scoring 30 points - 7 of them in the OT!!!  For the game, Hirssig had 11 boards with 2 of those in the OT also.  Dani Boese scored 17 and pulled down six boards for the game, 7 of her points were also in the OT as well as 2 of her rebounds.

Next up - the Lady Warhawks from UWW...  Hope for a clean well played game and may the home team win... ;D

Nice game by your girls, Champ.   Thanks for pinning another loss on Point.

I don't like this week long layoff but here's to a good game Saturday and may Coach Carollo get her first W in Johnson Fieldhouse. :D

Thanks BW...

Those ladies busted their tails - and it paid off!!!

As for Coach C getting his first "W" at Johnson Fieldhouse for Mathew, that's fine by me as long as it's in the {b]Alumni{/b] game (which former coaches are welcome to participate in) Saturday morning...

The Alumni game has been the WW game day for at least the last three years - Coach Z from WW has played in it the last two years IIRC.

It's always fun to see some of the recent and not so recent players come back and "show their stuff".   We frequently get players traveling in from some pretty good distances to play - one former star comes all the way from North Carolina!

EC over RF 63-52.

Saw one of the best 3-point shooting performances (12-22) by a D3 team today in RF.  They just simply could not miss beyond the arc for the first 3/4 of the game .  And not a lot of wide open shots either.  Most came with a EC player right on them.  It was pretty amazing.

I also saw one of the best individual performances of the year, and that was by Michelle Burns.  She had 25pts, including 2-2 from 3, and 13 rebs.

All this sets up a pretty good game on Wednesday when EC travels to Point.

Well, Mathew got the win that his mother wanted... :(

Now I want a rematch on your turf and we get the victory.... ;)

The Lady Warhawks played a very good game.

Stout never led and only tied once at 2-2 but they kept the game interesting and I never felt comfortable listening to it until about ten minutes remained and we'd pushed the lead up to 15-16 points.

Morton had a monster first half with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  She finished with 22/16 before fouling out with 2-3 minutes remaining.  Lyndsey Buechner and Heidi Sontag each added 16 points.  Kelsey Hendrickson and Megan Schmidtt also reached
double figures with 10 apiece.

After scoring a program high 11 three-pointers against Stout in WHITEWATER we were only 1 of 8 this time around.  That gives me the impression that Coach Thomas chose to defend the perimeter more heavily and our bigs (Morton, Buechner, Thompson and Schmidtt) did a lot of damage underneath the basket.

It was a sloppy game with 45 combined turnovers and a hack fest as  the two teams combined to shoot 80 free throws.

Sweeping Stout was a significant step forward for the program.  I don't know the last time we did that but I suspect is was quite a while ago.

The worst year for the UW Stout program since the 1990/91 season.  16 - 9 overall and 9 - 7 in the WIAC.

I happened to catch the last minute of the Tennessee/Rutgers women's game.  Boy, did Rutgers get screwed.  Down 1, UT got an offensive rebound and just before the clock expired, it paused for a bit at .2 and the UT player ended up getting fouled.  The refs even made sure to review if the foul occurred before time expired.  Of course when the foul occurred, the clock read .2 (because it temporarily stopped), so the refs let the UT player shoot the FTs and she made both for the win.  I think the refs had no idea that the clock had paused.  If the clock ran its normal course, the foul would have occurred after the buzzer and Rutgers would have won.

Buf,

I agree with you.  I am a big Tennessee fan, but I do believe the refs did get it incorrect.  Rutgers did themselves no favor but letting Tennessee get two offensive rebounds in the closing seconds though.  If they block out, game is over.
