EC and UWW are officially in

bulk19

Thought they would be, but still sweated it out a bit!  ;)

So, which team in the nation can go on a six-game winning streak? I think the Pointers can win four in a row, which will put them in a Final Four spot...

The Blugolds and Whitewater? Well, here's hoping they are successful based on the unfamiliarity the others teams will have when playing them...

Can't wait till the morning to see where everyone goes.  I would think SP would have a good shot at hosting after winning the conference tournament.  WW would have had a good shot in my mind until their men won Saturday night.  I hope we can get at least 2 out of these 3 teams into the sweet sixteen.

If I had to guess, I would say WW will most likely be on the road after their men won last night.  I believe in even numbered years the men have first priority in hosting the 1st/2nd rounds, while the women have first priority in the 3rd/4th rounds.  The WW men were first in their region last week, so winning the WIAC tourny shouldn't do anything to change that.  Just speculation, but I would say they would be on the road.

You bring up a good point.  It looks like the UWW men will be hosting.  If that is the case, I would guess Point is almost a lock for hosting.  Perhaps, they would host EC, St. Thomas and someone else.

EC might also go to Simpson, Iowa.

Point hosts, plays St Norbert.  The other game there is St. Thomas versus Chicago

buf

EC plays Carleton.  GAC plays Simpson.  Both games at Simpson

buf

UWW goes to Ill. Wesleyan.  I didn't catch who they play.  Maryville plays Ill Wesleyan in the other game there.

EC and UWW are in the same quarter of the bracket.  Point is on the other side of the bracket.

UWEC plays Carleton yet again this season.  EC won by 23 at Carleton in December.  Probably one of the best games EC played this season.  However, Carleton just won the MIAC conference tourney championship, so it looks like they are peaking at the right time.

Shirley Enger, Point's coach, is now on Hoopsville.  She is the chairperson of the national selection committee.

UWW plays Manchester.
You'll never walk alone.

It'd be awesome to see SP vs WW for the national title! At this point you just want to win one game at a time!

Congrats to Point on hosting - looking forward to seeing some games!

which isn't possible....

I rarely venture out of my bunker, but I may have to make the trip to Point for that pod.

I'm assuming the fact the UWW isn't home probably means the Whitewater men will be.

It looks like UWW has the easiest 1st round game (vs Manchester) of the WIAC teams. They should have no problem.  My take: UWW in a blowout.

Point has kind of a tough opponent in St. Norberts.  I think Point will win, but it could be close.  I'm surprised that Point wasn't matched up with St. Thomas instead.  From what I can gather, St. Norberts is a little better team.

EC is playing on the road, so who knows how they will play.  They beat Carleton by 23 in Carleton's gym, but then lost a couple weeks later to Gustavus on a neutral court.  Carleton and Gustavus are pretty even teams.  I'll take EC in a close one.

IF all WIAC teams advance, they would all probably have very tough 2nd round matchups (if the favorites win).  WW at Ill Wes, Chicago at Point, EC at Simpson
