Are the #1 and #2 seeds getting a bye?  That's the only way that six makes sense.

Yes, the top 2 seeds will get a bye.  Another interesting thing is that they will re-seed after the first round games.  This will give the top seed the easiest road to the finals.  If I am reading the rules correctly, this will operate just like the NFL playoffs.

Boy, that sure makes being the #1 or 2 seed pretty important!

Getting the first round bye to rest up and prepare for the second round is a huge advantage.   Almost keeps those two teams on the normal Wednesday/Saturday schedule!

WARHAWK women tabbed preseason favorite in meaningless poll of SIDs.

I guess this was pretty much expected.

I like the postseason tournament change.  Give your #1 and #2 the best possible chance to make the NCAAs.  I think it gives the WIAC a better opportunity to get mulitple teams in the NCAA field.

Congrats to WARHAWKS Tiffany Morton (2nd team) and Kelsey Hendrickson (4th team) and to BlueDevil Julia Hirssig (3rd team) D3hoops.com preseason All Americans.

I notcied Arin Lane is back on the UWO roster after a one year hiatus.  Anyone know the story here?   Was she injured last season, or is it something else?

The doubleheaders are a pain in the behind for the team that has to hurry up and wait for the second game to begin...

Champ slides in a cheap shot -
Time to take off your blue and gold glasses for a change and stop spewing sour grapes about Tonja England not getting COY.... - in a post about giving coaches mulligans the first four years...

The only time Coach Englund's name came up regarding any COY award was the WIAC COY... That's what I responded to in your post, since that's the only context in which her name has been used... Her name was not even mentioned on here regarding the WBCA award; you were making a big ASSumption about my thoughts, since I hadn't mentioned them, and didn't have sour grapes, neither.

As I said on March 13 and March 20, Carollo got my vote for the WIAC COY Award. As I pointed out in my previous post, that thought would hold true for the WBCA award, too, which is the first time I commented on that award.

So, therefore, no lies, but more attacks from you. Ha.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Sorry, janesvilleflash; yes this is old stuff, but Champ seems to drag my name into discussions because of his vitrol and animosity toward UWEC and its coach...

I should know better than to take his bait and not fall for his tricks of trying to have the last word, without allowing me to respond, but if Champ wants to continue with his cheap shots and level personal attacks at me, by incorrectly calling me a liar on a public forum, I will always be compelled to respond to such libelous remarks, which have been proven false.

Champ - Not protesting, but rather correcting the record, yet again...

Let's really correct the record.

I posted this on page 168:

QuoteThat's good coaching and recruiting.

Do the math, 2007 was the first year that it was truly "her" team - all players were recruited by her - not the remnants of what was there before (remember that she wasn't recruiting anyone during the 2001 - 2002 season as she was the Asistant Coach at Stout during their 15 - 1 WIAC Championship season).

Carollo's worked very hard and has earned her recognition!

Now where in that post is there ANY mention of UWEC, Tonja Englund or you?

And YOU, who hadn't even posted on this forum in months, responded to a post praising Carollo with this:

QuoteIt's already been determined here by some posters that you basically give mulligans to a coach's WIAC record for his/her first four seasons, because it isn't truly "his/her" team until he/she only has players that he/she has recruited during his/her stint...

What did this have to do with Carollo, other than a thinly veiled attempt to discredit her and me?   Talk about a cheap shot post...

If anyone took the bait, it was me.

And you can't even be honest enought to admit you started this crap.

It really is blatantly obvious that when I posted,  "The lady doth protest too much, methinks.", I was right, yet again.

Don't start what you can't finish (without lying).

Any word on the scrimmages?

I hear River Falls did not do very well yesterday at the Kohl Center.

Down 20-0 to start the game, I would say that counts as a getting "plucked".  :)

OshDude

If anyone's interested in the D-III regional volleyball tournaments, I have a fairly extensive blog that covers the St. Thomas (where EC and LC will be) and Oshkosh (where UWO and WW will be) regionals. It's not bad in national terms, either. Stop by and tell me what you think.

Pretty sweet site OshDude.  Lots of good info.  Lets cheer on the WIAC teams.
