Off night for the Blue Devils, but they squeak out a win 65 - 63 with Julia Hirssig putting up the buzzer beater at the end.

Hirssig finished with 18 points, followed by Stokke with 13 and DeWitt with 11.

About 36% shooting from the floor - that needs to be better on Saturday!

Eau Claire beats Point by 60 - 54. Hard fought game. Eau Claire, well flat at times, had too many tools for Point. Hannah Mesick named tournmant MVP. Heather Witt another fantastic game When she goes into the "Witt Zone" she is the best all round player in the WIAC . Arciszewski was named to the all tournent team. 5, 6, 7 players on Eau Claire getting into the groove and doing very well as the season moves on.

She should stay in that zone, I'm sure her team would like that.  Otherwise, I'm afraid we just might have another Randy Moss on our hands, because she is only playing when she wants to.

Not much to say about the Superior women, except that they had enough spit in them to come back from an awful deficit to come within two before lagging back and losing. I can't say the Northland women look all that talented. Superior has a couple of very nice players, and they should have been able to take the game. It's like they just went a little goofy for stretches. Some serious weak spots on the team.

Least they got the win and should be rested and ready for Eau Claire on Saturday.  Couple good match-ups with that game and Stevens Point and WW.

Damn, I was looking forward to "buckets" answer.

As was I. But some people back up their statements, some don't.

As far as Lane, who knows what it could be. As far as I know, she was still at UWO last year, though she didn't play.
We started that WRST Sports sh**.

Believe it or not, the coach isn't only reason players leave programs.  My guess is that many more are "burned out" and would rather study and earn their degree.  Certainly not going to be out a free education if that is the case.

Takes special people to stick with it, especially if they know they are going to be nothing more than a roll, or scout team player.  IMO.

Have you seen Witt play?  She is always hustling around the court.  In fact, she is #1 in assists and #3 in steals among conference players right now.  I am just not seeing where your getting your "she only plays when she wants to"

Just got done watching EC win at D2 Minnesota-Duluth by about 15.  Well played game by the 'Golds.  EC's zone really confused UMD and contained their star player.

Witt had about 25pts to lead EC.  Heidi A and Mesick also scored in double figures.

UWL won over Ripon.  Ripon is now 0-3 (all at home) against WIAC teams this season.  Gotta give kudos to them though by scheduling tough non-conference opponents.

River falls won over Viterbo

Point wins big over North Central

JMM

EC Wins. Witt was in the "Witt Zone" again! Go Heather. She hustles 100% and is grand but when she gets "that" look in her eyes it's "Witt Zone" time. Great win for EC!

I think he was making light of Randy Moss.  I would assume its not a dig at Witt, who had a great game on Wednesday.

Correct.  I'm not taking anything away from her.  I'm sure she is a great player, and I look forward to seeing her play the Pioneers.  Just trying to make a play on the words is all.

Her's the bit about Witt. She is outstanding player. If you go to blugold games enough, There are times when she gets this gleam in her eye and goes into another zone (not twighlight but soething like that), three pointers go swish, steals come back to back to back and rebounds abound. I think the gleam is the love of the game. That is the "Witt Zone". Usually happens a few times a games.  She always gives 100 % and is always a team keader but when the gleam gets in her eyes - magic - the "Witt Zone".
