It looks like Mark has taken a page out of Eddie's book.  ;)

Will you have enough uniforms?  :D

Smaller than normal recruiting class last year, coupled with some graduations, required an influx of young talent.

If we need more uniforms, we'll get 'em... ;D

"I like the depth," Thomas said. "We can get back to playing 14-15 players in each game."

I haven't seen any of these girls play yet, but I've been told that there is some real talent in this group.... 8)

Stout has changed their athletic website, so maybe you weren't able to find the article previously linked in my post.

Here is the new link:  http://athletics.uwstout.edu/news/2009/7/23/WBB_0723092219.aspx

A few quotes from the article from Coach Thomas:

"This is a nice, athletic group," Thomas said. "They have quality speed and quickness and they each complement each other. They each will bring unique attributes to our program.

"I like their competitiveness and I like their basketball IQ. The have all played very important roles on their high school teams.

"This group, down the road, could put us in a good situation."

"UW-Whitewater adds more size to roster" (I'd say!)

Looks like Whitewater may have a uniform shortage too, right BW??? ;D ;)

That's a good problem.  It looks like an interesting group of recruits. Hopefully they'll pan out.  Morton will be difficult to replace.

Yup, it doesn't hurt to bring in a group of recruits.  You never know for sure which one(s) will truly pan out.

Morton was an outstanding player for you.  I hope you don't find anyone as good to replace her.... ;D

I'll say the same thing to you once Hirssig is gone.   ;D ;)

Good get for UW-L but I don't think they will have much to go with her.

Agreed, as long as kids aren't being made promises and then run off after a year when the next batch shows up. As D3's we often make cracks about the scholarship schools and how they might treat kids. But I think there's plenty of kids cut who were told they had a place with the program.

It's the nature of college sports at every level.  They recruit a player and the next year they go out and try to recruit a better one.  You either develop or you're replaced.

And that is the way it should be.  Not all HS BB players are able to make the transition to the college level.

Just as some college superstars don't do well in the NBA/WNBA.

It's a different game.

I once had a very successfull college coach in a different sport tell me that if they got the recruits they were currently recruiting none of the recruits they had brought in the year before would be playing.
