Expect EC to have their hands full with RF. Against LAX guard had mucho trouble getting the ball up. Lots of pressue but nothing like they will see from RF. EC had to make adjustments to get the ball up court in the second half. They are hurting bad in the guard position - inexperience and injury.

UWRF

UWRF has moved into the Top 25!

They need to keep the momentum going and get two wins this week!

I think that the folks at D3 have a "thing" for UWW Woman. Seems they always get the node these past few years in the Top 25. Love seeing all the WIAC teams in the top 25 but seems UWW gets a little over rated, a little too often. Thought the #1 rating last year (which was an overstatement0 really put pressure on that team - I thought.

I don't think WW gets too much love.  I think the #1 rating last year was legit to start the year with what they had coming back.  I did hear a little rumor that Thompson is out 4-6 weeks because of a broken foot.  I don't think they are a top 20 team though without her.

FWIW - Thompson was the #2 scorer in WW's first loss of the season last Saturday at Stout.

Unless something happened in practice recently, that rumor might not be accurate.

Changing the subject...

How is the "Snownami" in your areas?  Are we going to get games in tonight?  If the decision had to be made right now, I wouldn't endorse teams travel based on the way the wind is blowing the snow around here right now.

Hope things clear up - I'm planning on going to LaCrosse tonight!

It could be true.  She played 13 first half minutes and only 5 second half minutes.  She was averaging around 27 for the season, so not sure why she would play her first half average, but not her second half average.  We'll find out in Point.

Champ, the WIAC website indicates the Stout/LaCrosse game has been postponed till 12/10.

The WARHAWK/Stevens Point men's game has been postponed so I would think that the women's game has as well.

UPDATE:

It looks like all conference games, both men and women, have been postponed until Thursday @ 7:00PM.

I thought maybe they could play the EC/RF game yet tonight, but I guess not.

I was at the game, and don't remember any WW player being injured on the court.  But you raise an excellent point on her second half minutes.

I hope for her sake that the rumor of a broken foot is wrong...

That is the game where the opponents are physically the closest, and probably the most direct route between the two schools.

By canceling them all, it's safer for everyone and everyone plays the next game with the same amount of rest.

Best decision I think.

Champ  From my side of the court I know she hurt something and when she came out of the game was pointing at her foot it happened on d in front of the stout bench

Maybe there is something to the rumor of a foot problem... ???

Yes, Thompson is out and on crutches according to the Point announcer.

Halftime scores:

Point goes up big early but lead by hot shooting from Sontag late, UWW leads 30-25

EC has 19 TOs so far and I see no Linder on the live stats, RF leads 25-20

UWP goes on a 12-1 run before the half and leads UWO 26-23

Hirrsig's 12 points has Stout up over UWL 34-28

Quite a night
Stout comes back from 8 down with 4:00 left and down 2 with :27 left before a DeWitt three gives them a one point lead. 2-for-4 at the line in the final :20 enough to hold off La Crosse.

Whitewater without Thompson gives Point their second loss.

River Falls to 3-0 forcing 34 TO's against Eau Claire.

Platteville rolls after getting down early.

Looks like River Falls wants to make it a 4 team race this year with WW, Stout, and SP.

Look for Point to go on a run here as they've already played the other three just mentioned. Then again WW and Stout have played two of the three.
