Thompson will be back next year.  You can book it.

If I had a nickel for everytime we thought next year HAS to be La Crosse's year, I'd retire. Until they actually get it done, I can't buy it.

Hahahaha, great quote!

Here are my predictions:

1. LX- Great Team coming back.  No seniors, Lang and Frank are ready for big years.  How was Lang not even honorable mention all conference?  I am sure Stout would have voted for her.

2. EC- Post play should still be excellant, and Olson is coming along.  Along with other swing player.

3. WW- I am sure the reigning Coach of the Year has something up her sleeve.  Just won't be a WIAC conference tournament title.

4. SP- Needs to beat Stout at home and find out how to win at LX and EC.

5. River Falls- Great Guard play.

6. Stout- Heard they have great transfers and high schoolers coming in, but hard to see them contending without Hirrsig.

7. Oshkosh- Everyones Back, they just weren't that good this year.

8. Superior- Making a push to get out of the cellar.

9. Platteville- Losing a good senior class, and now looking for a new coach.

If they do it the same way the men do the top 10 (including ties) are the all conference team and any player who receives even a single vote  is honorable mention.  If that is the procedure and Lang wasn't honorable mention it means no coach voted for her.

If we look at both UWL/Stout games, you might see why she didn't get recognized - IMO:

1st game at UWL - Lang's line:  0 of 6 from the floor, 0 of 3 from beyond the arc, 1 of 2 from the FT line, 3 rebounds, 1 point, 4 TO's and 1 steal.  A total non factor in this game.

2nd game at Stout - Lang's line:  10 of 18 from the line, 4 of 8 from beyond the arc, 3 of 3 from the FT line, 7 rebounds, 27 points, 4 TO's and 3 steals.  Career best, and I posted that she was personally responsible for taking that game from Stout.

Inconsistency was her problem.

I even commented after the Plattevile game right after LaCrosse defeated Stout how I wish Lang had had her typical night against us - which is pretty much what she did at Platteville -  4 of 12 from the floor, 0 for 5 from beyond the arc, 1 of 4 from the FT line, 8 rebounds 9 points and 2 TO's.

Bears rule

I think any prediction next year must start with SP on top. Lost one Senior who played under 15 minutes per game.

LX lost the least, so they should be tough.

EC lost one Senior

RF- lost three seniors. Top players back

WW- Thonson back makes up for some of the seniors lost

Stout- lost A LOT. Depends who these transfers are.

Superior- lost little

Oshkosh- can she keep returners

Platteville- starting over

Once we know transfers and recuits this can all change

WW is going to be bad.  They have ZERO in the back court!  I don't like Kumerow, Burg and Thompson's ability to bring up the ball and feed each other in the post.  They are going to get constantly pressed.  Only young good guard I saw on that team was 14.  That girl is going to be a good player.

Bears rule

You make it sound like EC one year ago.

When tranfers are done and recruits are named WW will be tough again.

Usuallywrong24

Well, I think they could be around .500 in the league.  8-8 could very well happen.

Thank God for your user name.  :D

#14 would be Megan Theune a sophomore and Whitewater HS graduate.  She has potential.  We will constantly press as well.  Replacing the backcourt is a tall order however it is easier to replace guards than it is post players.  I'll wait and see who we recruit and/or transfers before writing the team off.

Call me crazy, but I would rather have Flease than Hendrickson.  Just comparing the stat lines from head to head this year.

Dec 10, 76-71 WW Win
Hendrickson 21 pts, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 7 steals
Flease 12 pts, 0 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals

Jan 27, 68-51 SP Win
Flease 24 pts, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals
Hendrickson 7 pts, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals

February 27, 68-64 SP Win
Flease 6 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals
Hendrickson 0 pts, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals

This is just for arguments sake, but I would say Flease outplayed Hendrickson in these match-ups.  Both are really good players who had really good seasons.

Also, when I say WW is going to be bad, I am saying they are going to be bad compared to their past years.  I am seeing an 8-8 season, not bad for other teams, but bad for a top three program in this league.  It might be easier to get good guards, but I think it is still a challenge to get a couple good ones in one recruiting class and make up for the production that Hendrickson, Sontag, Bundy and Moran had this past year.

Ok, you are not only usually wrong you are also crazy!  ;)

Making the decision based on three games out of thirty seems a bit shortsighted but to each their own.  Comparing them on a season basis is a mixed bag.  In some categories Hendrickson was better, in some others it was Flease.  Both had solid seasons and both were important components in their respective team's success.  It is worth noting that both the WIAC coaches whom had Hendrickson as a finalist for the conference player of the year and the d3hoops.com committee who selected the All-Region team put Hendrickson in front of Flease.  However I suspect if you asked Enger if she would have liked having Hendrickson on her team and if you asked Carollo if she would have liked having Flease on her's that both would probably answer affirmatively.  They're both good players.  jmo

I'm in JustBill's camp ... until they actually prove it, I could never pick them to win it.

But by putting Stevens Point 4th I'm not sure I can take any of these picks seriously.

Just trying to figure out your logic?
You pick La Crosse to win the league simply because they have no seniors ... which means moving up two spots and winning games that truly matter ... which La Crosse hasn't really done, EVER.
Yet Point, who was 4 minutes from going to the Final Four, WON the conference tournament, and lost the regular season title on the final day is going to drop two spots even though they lose just one senior who averaged 3 points and 3 rebounds a game?
