EC could have a problem with RF. Can't figure out why but for the last few games play well in first half and bust in the second. If they were to beat RF, I think if anyone could take SP, it would be EC. I don't see it because they just can' put an outstanding game together.

Can LAX beat WW?
Can WW beat SP?

Yes and Yes. LAX, WW, and UWEC all have the ability to beat UWSP. I'm not saying they will, but each team has the players to win that game.

I do think it's difficult to beat a good team 3 times in a year. UWEC, UWW, and UWL all fall into that category for UWSP. Again, not saying they will, but it wouldn't be a shock to me.

But, UWL and UWEC need to prove they are ready for the playoffs by taking care of business on Wednesday.

Not sure if it received any ink yet, but its Churchill vs. Churchill tonight.  One will end the other's season and most likely career.  I have a feeling it is going to be emotional in La Crosse to night.

I couldn't imagine being their parents.

predictions for WEDS

LAX 58-47 over OSH - no problems here at all for LAX

RF 47 - 41 over EC (ouch!)  I just expect EC to do what they have done all year - Turn overs)

Central Regional Rankings

1. Illinois Wesleyan 17-3 20-4
2. Wisconsin-Stevens Point 23-2 23-2
3. Wisconsin-Whitewater 17-5 20-5
4. Wisconsin-La Crosse 18-6 19-6
5. Chicago 21-3 21-3
6. Washington U. St. Louis 17-3 20-4

A bit surprised that both UWW and UWL are ahead of Chicago & Wash U, both from the strong UAA conference.  I guess that head to head win for UWL over Chicago is carrying a lot of weight.

Looks like a tough nite for the fans of the blue and gold.

The second half has been pretty even, but it doesn't mean much when you were down by 19 at the half.

Not the way your seniors wanted to end their careers.

UWRF 66 - UWEC 44

Would love any insight into the blugolds year. Agree, not very good. They had alot going in the beginning and did good over the winter break. But man, did they go in the tank. Is it chemsitry, alot of folks say they are just plain slow to move and slow to shoot. Any insights. This team as had little heart for many many games. Problem is the same folks minus Messick are back next year. I expect the same results next year, little heart, slow off the ball and as is the case all year - more turnovers. Maybe RF can keep it together for point.

Yes, it was a tough way to end the season, but kind of summed the season for the Golds.  Just not good play at home.  Against conference foes, I believe they were 3-6 at home and 6-2 on the road.  Records you just don't see very often in this conference.

EC loses just Mesick.  But this is a big loss especially for post scoring and rebounding.  Englund will have to have a good recruiting class next year.

UWL never lost the lead in the second half. For the most part it was a double digit lead, though UW Oskosh got to within 6 with about 2:30 left in the game. From there the Oskosh Churchill fouled out on a pretty bogus call and UWL held their lead til the end.

Radio announcer said Frank ended with 18 pts 19 boards and 8 blocks. Don't know the rest of the stats because they're frozen, but the UWL Churchill played well also.

Side note: I really liked the Oskosh announcer, he had a couple points of inaccuracy, which you're going to have when you're covering a team you see once or twice a year at most, but he had a really good play by play overall, especially compared to some of the radio teams you listen to in D3.
