Blugolds are going to do well this year, more mature, decisive, inside and outsode game and heart. Halama has really done well - nice going on team of the week. Plendil is playing well with very few PFs. I think they can win thrir next 4 games. This should postion them well for RF and Point. The could make those games very interesting. If they had played Il Weyselan a week later, they may have won. They kept up well with WW and LAX. There may be something special about this team. RF and SP are tough, tough competition. WW while fast and furious is probably in a rebuilding year. Young guards.. That said, playing WW is like being in a hurricane.

UWEC doubles up Superior, 76-38 @ Zorn.  Plendl had 14pts, 13rebs.  Blugolds jumped out quickly and looked good throughout the game.

Pointers drill the stone cold WARHAWKS in one of the worst losses in recent memory.  I don't even want to talk about it.

What are everyone's thoughts on RF?  Are they legit?  They are 9-0 overall, 3-0 in conference.  So far they've crushed Stout, Oshkosh and Platteville.  Non of those are conference contenders, but Oshkosh was having a good year up until the RF game.  I think their January schedule will show their true colors, when they play Point, WW, Lax and EC all in a two week span.

Coach Cindy has never finished higher than 3rd.  Is this going to be her year?

I think they're the 2nd best team in the conference right now. We'll see if UWW can turn it around otherwise I see RF being a top 2 team this year.

I think RF is for real, they return 5 starters and 8 players that played significant minutes last year.  They have 5 seniors and among those the only conference preseason all american pick in Tiffany Gregorich and the best rebounder in the conference in Maranda Dohrn.

In their non conference games they beat Gustavus, picked second in the MIAC, Simpson, picked first in IIAC and Concordia-Wisconsin, picked second in their division of the NAC.  So Coach Holbrook is finding as tough a nonconference competition as she can find.

While I've said RF is for real I still think Point is the best in the conference and it will be tough to get through that two week stretch of Point, WW, Lax, and EC.  Also, did you see that RF's nomination for Women's BBall Athlete of the week this week was Holly Riesselman, a 6'2" junior center that just transferred in this year, that's gotta help with depth.

I was thinking he's the guy in back with the horns... although Coach Thomas sort of looks like he has some sort of green horns, too!  ;)

A noble gesture, to be applauded, that's for sure... Well done, BDB...

Oops, I was remiss in not complimenting you for your generosity BDB.

I guess I was overwhelmed by the sweater. :D

Nope not me in the sweater. That's my partner Steve. I told him last night that "he must've found a pretty sweet thrift sale to find that sweater."  ;D

Saw RF and Simpson today. Up until about 7 minutes left I was not that impressed then things began to roll. Brittany Gregorich caught fie and Simpson was left in the dust. RF is a solid team. Not all that good underneath and other than Brittany Gregorich, no major threats. I think you stop Brittany Gregorich, you stop RF. Their competition so far has not been all that good. I think WW will beat them, Point will beat them and EC can beat them if can EC limits there turnovers to under 15. LAX  could also take tem. I have seen all these team play. Again, stop  Brittany Gregorich and RF will not do that well. MY 2 cents.

RF falls from the ranks of the unbeaten with an overtime loss to a good Carthage team in Vegas. I'm sure they were thrilled to travel to Nevada to play each other.

gordonmann

We hope they were happy to come here. We were happy to watch them at least.  And I'm not sure they would've played each other unless we paired them up.

billys

Agreed; great match-up and they probably would not have played each other being on separate sides of the state.

I shouldn't have worded it was such. It's just kind of funny two teams from the same state travel across the country and end up playing each other. Although I think UWSP and Concordia (or someone like that) faced off in Florida a year or two again. When I saw the match-up I was just surprised to see it was in Vegas. No disrespect intended
