Really hope WW gets to tournament. Don't see them losing to EC at home. Don't kmow about OSH.

Voice of the Titans

I just see something crazy happening tonight at Kolf. Buzzerbeater being waved off, too many timeouts called, whistle swallowed at end of game. Something.

Don't set a bad karma. I see RF and OSH playing for the conference 1st place....

Voice of the Titans

Well, if it gets to the end and nothing weird has happened, I can always start singing "It's Raining Men" into the microphone during play. That always gets 'em.

WIAC still looks good after 2nd Regional Rankings.

Voice of the Titans

Nothing crazy until about 32 seconds left. A fan voiced his "opinion" on an official when it was very quiet in Kolf. Can't say I had seen that before. But, thankfully, 2 seconds before my "It's Raining Men" karaoke promise.

WARHAWKS: 57
Oshkosh: 60

The WARHAWKS got off to a slow start failing to score in the game's first four minutes and falling behind 9-0.  Malia Smith's jumper took the lid off the basket and a 11-2 WARHAWKS run over the last four minutes of the quarter tied the game 11-11.  The two teams went back and forth trading the lead in the first four minutes of the second quarter and leaving the score tied 21-21 when the Titans used an 11-2 run to close out the quarter and lead 32-23 at the half.  The Titan lead grew to a high of 13, 38-25, in the first three minutes of the third quarter but the WARHAWKS fought back and when Lisa Palmer sank a three pointer with less than a minute remaining in the quarter trailed by just a single point 46-45 at the horn.  A pair of free throws by Riley Stewart early in the final quarter gave the WARHAWKS their first lead of the game 49-48 but the Titans sank a pair of their own a couple minutes later to go back on top 50-49 and built the lead to four 57-53 with forty seconds to play and again 59-55 twenty seconds later.  After that Stewart's two free throws cut the lead in half but the Titans sank one of two free throws and the WARHAWKS missed a pair and a last second three point shot in the loss.  The game featured a combined total of 12 ties and lead changes.

WARHAWKS:
Palmer: 21 points, 9 rebounds
Brooke Trewyn: 9 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
Stewart: 7 points, 2 assists
Smith: 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists
TEAM: 13-16 free throws

Titans:
Alex Richard: 13 points, 6 rebounds
Morgan Kokta: 11 points
Taylor Schmidt: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists
Marissa Selner: 9 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists
TEAM: 34-20 in the paint, 9-10 free throws

Big Congrats to RF the season champ, with out a doubt. Big win for EC. . Bad day for WW  probably no longer a bubble team. Losing 6 of their last 13.

JMM

WW over EC (EC should win but i think the EC choke factor will kick in)
SP over Stout

JMM

Nice win for EC. Finally getting some consistent play.

Congrats and good luck.

In the three games against us the BluGolds shot 93 free throws and made 71.  The WARHAWKS went 40 for 54. It was particularly pronounced in the last two when the BluGolds went 52-64 and we were 24-29. In the final two games the BluGolds reached the double bonus in six of the eight quarters including four in which there was still at least six or more minutes remaining.  The WARHAWKS reached it twice.  Once in the first quarter and again in the eighth quarter.  This isn't intended as criticism or a commentary on the officiating.  It's simply stating facts because you can not win under those circumstances.

I do hope WW makes the tournament. I remember many EC and WW games over the past 10 years where the  refs "allowed the players to play" and winning against the relentless Warhawk defense was  impossible. I think a change took place  after the tournament championship game at SP February 25, 2012 (a game I was at) were WW had 2 technical fouls. Seems to me at least, the refs view of the WW super pressure defense changed.  In current day, maybe the WIAC refs are too quick to call fouls on WW. I have not reviewed stats to verify this. There certainly is a difference though. Be curious to know what percentage of current WIAC refs are still around since back then. Just my thoughts.I believe that game was televised by fox or ESPN - lots of commentary from the broadcasters. My thoughts...

I don't like our chances at all.

WW program has national recognition and has an excellent reputation. It may get close but WW schedule was tough. They also beat Luther in the over, overtime game  and are coming from the toughest woman's conference this year. Think they will be there unless EC keeps focused and beats RF and the winner of SP and OSH. Can EC keep focused - maybe. I do think RF is exceptional also think SP will knock OSH out. So hang loose till Monday PM. NCAA tournament needs WW in it.
