Is shoutguy that fool who yelled at every foul shot against Dubuque last weekend at Stout? If so someone needs to velcro his mouth shut and tape him to a basement wall. What an embarassment.
Hey, you are a pretty clever guy.  "shoutguy"  I like that.  And, no, dipstick, I'm not him.

But can we still tape you to the basement wall?  ;D

We'll see you down here on January 3rd.

You probably can tape me to the wall but as for that Platteville trip I HAVE to take my yearly trip to Mexico for a couple weeks so will miss the good care we always get at Platteville.   See you when you guys come to Menomonie.

Just reading the box score from the UWSP-UWW and a couple things really stood out.  WW usually wins two statistical categories every game, more rebounds and less turnovers.  Looks like SP really handled their full-court pressure and did a good job of being even on the boards.  I may be mistaken, but this is the third win in a row in the series for Point.

As noted early, WW is not the team to beat in the WIAC. They are very overated. They lost their heart and soul last  year when Lindsey B. left. She was the glue and the gut of the team. The teams to beat are Point, EC and Stout. I see the final standings (if their are no major injuries) as:
Point and EC tied for first.
Stout in the next spot
WW in fourth.
No matter what the outcome of the year, WIAC is hands down the best conference in the nation.

The Pointers today played one of the best games  I've seen them play in several years.  They didn't have a lot of turnovers, hit tough shots, rebounded very well against a taller team and never lost their composure.  After losing 6 seniors from last year, I'll admit I thought that this would be a rebuilding year.  After watching them play several times this year, I  think they'll be in the mix for the title.  While depth might be a concern, if they can stay healthy I think they'll be allright.  All of the starters have been solid and freshman Cassie Bandow  could probably start on most WIAC teams.  After today, I think most Pointer fans are very excited about this years tem.

Speaking of FT percentages,

Though games played by December 4th, UWL is shooting 85% as a team.  Pretty incredible.

Again with the FT stuff:

Hunter (UWL) is 40-42.

JMM

85% is incredable.

I think you are mistaken in Lindsey Buechner being the heart and soul of the team last year. She may have scored a lot of points but she was not as big of an asset as Trisha Thill. Thill's defense was the reason the Warhawks made it as far in the tournament as they did. Thill was the glue that kept them together. You can always replace scoring but the leadership that Thill provided is irreplaceable.

JMM

I think you may be right it might have been Trish not lindsey, thanks.

I don't know, they were both really important.  Buechner was huge on their press because she could actually keep up with most post players full court.  Thill was also very talented on defense and a good shooter.  Isn't it funny how those two players hardly got any attention last year while Morten and Hendrickson were the talk of the league.  Just shows how those role players, if you can call Thill and Buechner that since they were big factors, make a huge difference.

Also, might be too soon to jump off the WW bandwagon.  One road game into conference is a little early and the WBCA coach of the year should be able to make adjustments.

And about UW-L shooting 85% from the line, wow.  That is unheard of for any team.  All they must do at UW-L is shoot free throws during practice!  ;)

JMM

Last year and the year before, WW defense was fierce. It's just not there this year. I maintain if you stop Morten, you stop WW. There are many teams that will be able to stop her especially with Thill and Buechner gone. I have seen WW play 3 times this year. Defense is nowhere as fierce. Pressure is really on some of the younger players. They have had some easy competition to start and haven't shown that much. Compare WW stats amd other WIAC stats with like competition - difference really shows. The bench is also very lacking. Feel bad for them that so much pressure was put on them by the #1 rating so early. Probably took alot of focus from their game. With that rating gone, it will help them make adjustments and re-focus.  SP has that fierce defense as does Stout. Both have multi-dimensional games to go with the defense. With the Thill and Buechner gone, WW is kind of one dimensional.
Time will tell, the season is young.

With all due respect, Morten had 23 and 14 yesterday.  She was not stopped and they still lost.

JMM

True, Morton had 23 pts and 14 rebounds. Next highest scorer was Woolever - 10. SP had four players ib double figures 18, 17, 16, 11. While Morton was not stopped, the offene was one dimensional - Morton. Time will tell. Thanks.

UWRF

The Falcons were able to knock off Oshkosh in a battle of young teams.  Neither team played very well.

If the Falcons can stop turning the ball over, I think they have a chance to make the WIAC Tournament.  We also need to see more of Tiffany Gregorich, she should be playing about 35 mins a game, but she also has to stay out of foul trouble.
