I don't think Coach Thomas is going to just let his team play H-O-R-S-E for the next two days.

I think they call it  G-E-I-C-O now.   ;)

If UWEC wins and UUWW loses on Saturday, who finishes second in the conference?

Does UWEC lose out on that, and seed at #3, based on a 1-2 record vs. Point? Or does EC slide into the second spot, using criteria #3, based on a 2-0 record vs. UWL, vs. UWW's 1-1?

Hmmm?

WW will be the 2 seed because of their 1-1 record against SP and EC's 0-2 record against SP.  The EC win against SP was a non-conference game.

Also if Stout beats EC on Saturday, I believe they will overtake EC for the #3 seed (assuming that Point wins).  Both teams would be 1-3 against teams above them.  It would then move to records versus teams in desending order starting with #1 seed Point.  Stout is 1-1 against Point while EC is 0-2 in conference play.

I made so many mistakes in that post, I don't even want to try and explain them... :-[ :-[ :-[

Bottom line, I want nothing but W's the rest of this season.... ;D

That is what I think too buf.  Just a huge game in Stout.  That 3/4 seed is up for grabs.

Haha Champ, we all make mistakes.   ;)

Yes, I remember making one.  But it was a long time ago.   :)

Once again LAX doesn't finish in the top four in conference.  During Heeren's 10 years, the highest they've finished is 4th (2005-2006) and the other years they placed 6th or worst (not including this year's 5th place).  They are losing a bunch of starters to graduation at the end of the year, almost ensuring another mediocre season next year.  At some point doesn't the administration have to wonder why the program struggles so much?  How do you know when to make a change?

They are in trouble next year to say the least. La Crosse has never been a school that gets rid of coaches though. They are good in most sports and those that they're not, they just ride it out.

It's 75% recruiting at this level and they lost a great recruiter a few years back. They haven't added much the last couple years.

That said, they are going to win, what, 18-19 games this year so I'm not sure it's the BEST time to pull the plug. I would monitor it next year though because they may REALLY struggle.

HUGE win for EC today at Stout, 59-41, pulling away at the end.  Two players stepped up big for EC---Heidi A. and Plendl.  Heidi A kept on driving to the hoop with a lot of success the entire game; 26pts, 4ast, 3st.  And Plendl had her best game as a Blugold; 14pts, 10reb, 4blk., especially playing well down the stretch

Stout started out on fire from 3 early on against the EC zone.  However, when EC switched to person-person defense, they totally shut down Stout.  Stout had 20pts at the 11min mark of the first half.  They scored only 21 points the rest of the game.  Hirssig was pretty much a non-factor.  Great help defense by EC's guards on her as they slapped the ball away from her numerous times in the 2nd half when she was waiting to make her move.

This is a much needed win when looking at the national tourney picture for EC.  EC earned it.  They stepped up big on the road this week.

Looks like that bye last weekend really helped EC.  Be interesting if they can get 3 wins in 5 days week.  I think as long as they can get a win Tuesday against River, they will have put themselves in line for at least a pool C bid as long as a majority of the other top seeds in their conference tournaments win.  I think WW and Point should be in the NCAAs as well.

It took a couple of minutes for either team to score before a Tiffany Morton layup put the WARHAWKS on the board.  After that they would steadily build the lead to as many as 22 points before the half ended with a 20 point spread 41-21.  River Falls shot just 32% in the first half while WHITEWATER shot 50% including 7-13 three-pointers.  River Falls would get to within 12 points in the second half but WHITWATER would lead by another 22 points with about 7 1/2 minutes remaining.  River Falls cut that margin to 12 points 68-56 the rest of the way.

Tiffany Morton had a great game with 20 points, 19 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks.  Kelsey Hendrickson went 4-8 from beyond the arch and finished with 14 points.  Seeing more playing time freshman Chantel Burg finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  WHITEWATER outrebounded River Falls 45-30 including a 16-7 advantage on the offensive glass.

Taylor House had 15 points to lead River Falls.

Morton's double-double was her 14th of the season and a school record 28th of her career.

The win clinches the second seed and first round bye for the WARHAWKS.

Considering all the negative vibes going on regarding sportsmanship, I leave you this story to ponder.

This week's region rankings:

Central Region In-Region Record Overall Record
1. Ill. Wesleyan 20-0 22-0
2. Wis.-Whitewater 18-3 20-3
3. Wis.-Stevens Point 19-3 20-3

4. Washington-St. Louis 16-4 18-4
5. Wis.-Eau Claire 15-4 19-4
6. St. Norbert 17-2 18-4

Despite the loss to Point, EC doesn't move down.

Since I was looking back at some old posts, I don't believe this one was recognized, least not by me.  Just curious how WW was higher than Point.  Point was leading the conference at the time, had a better regional record, and had a better regional record among teams ranked.  WW had a slightly higher OWP, but I don't think it was so much higher to rank SP below WW.

badgerwarhawk

When was that ranking made relative to the WARHAWKS beating Stevens Point on Feb. 14th?
